Hey...so I was looking into getting a windshield but I wasn't sure what the big difference in all the brands were. They all look fairly similar so I figured there wasn't a big deal. Does anyone know how much of a difference there is and which you have/prefer...Thanks

Puig makes a nice screen but in the past I have noticed they are not optically correct - looks blurry if you look through the screen instead of over.

Fit and finish on the Zero Gravity, Puig, etc are all the same.

Genuine Suzuki Accessories has developed a smoked "sport-touring style" windscreen for the new K8 models. Track tested in 30mph crosswinds at the Streets of Willow. This will be available at your local Suzuki dealer within a few weeks.

ok, so i take it the styles arent much different. I figured all it would really do was change the color/look. I don't know about being able to see through them tho, that would be annoying if you couldn't....ill just have to check out my friends for now....thanks

Was your Zero Gravity windscreen official a 2007 model that you fit to a 2008. Moreover, does anyone know if the screw position has changed and what we should do (other than sit and wait) for a double bubble windscreen.

Yes, I agree. However, as with most accessories on the K8 600/750, there are not many (if any) models out yet. So, I guess I'm asking if the K7 windscreen will fit a K8.

Stoked!!!

No, the K7 screen WILL NOT fit the K8.. Trust me, I tried and failed. Haha..

I prefer light smoke. Everyone wears a tinted face shield anyway, so if you go dark smoke, your visibility will be greatly reduced and since you are tucking behind your shield only when you are twisting the throttle and accelerating like a bat out of hell or going over 100mph, visibility is your friend and at those speeds a fraction of a second of being able to see that blue haired grandma merging onto the highway at 30 mph is the difference between life and ........

Puig's zscreens look even better. Too bad they won't go back and change all their screens to the zracing screen, but it's only for new bikes as of 08.

I got the ZG direct from them. As for the dark smoke, i love the look and couldn't care less about looking through it. At my height, i cant fully tuck behind it regardless, if you shift your position back on the bike just a little you can still look over the screen but have the effect of the double bubble do the same thing so its just as safe. Its up to you what you want though. I wanted the look of the dark smoke and cant say i would have gone any other way, it just looks so sleak and holds the lines of the bike so well. Its all personal taste though IMO.

MySpivey

Its the same as stock just with the extra bubble on it. Good for us taller riders.

As much as I love PUIG's quality, I don't like how they add that "black" at the bottom of the screen where the logo is, thus why I chose Zero Gravity. I like it completely clear. As MySpivey says, it's all personal taste/preference..

puig screens just came into the country on thursday and the distributor got them out on fri, we should have the hsipment in a few more days. thur most likely. We already have about half of this first batch sold to preorders. This will be the ONLY shipment with the gsxr logo on all models except the dark smoke screens as those never have the logo.

The zscreens went through more windtunnel testing and basically have a smaller groove between the two "bubbles" so they look more sleek and have much better aerodynamics compared to the older model. They did a lot of testing to come up with their new design. Same clearance for the rider whith much better aero's.

OK...I did the Puig and have had it for 3 days...I love how it works, but I think it is a little too tall looks-wise. So, looks over form over functionality for me I guess. I bought the dark smoke. Anyone interested in buying it from me? Still have the packaging, etc. Nothing wrong with it (fits awesome btw).

PM me if interested. Mummy wants a restock fee, so I would give you a few bucks off. :burnout

I never understood why people care if you can see through the screen. I VERY VERY rarely am ever tucked that I would be looking through it. I guess if you are tracking the bike maybe but for everyday riding I dont see the reason behind not having dark smoke over clear

I purchased a 2008 GSXR-1000 in late January, 2009. Unlike my other 2 sportbikes, the Gixxer has an incredible amount of wind resistance against my upper body and head which is totally unpleasant and unstable at high double-digit and beyond speeds. I installed the Suzuki "Touring" windscreen which made zero difference.

After much searching, I ordered a Laminar Lip, reinstalled the stock windscreen (as the Lip will not fit over the Touring version) and my problems are over! These Laminar Lips are about $100 inluding shipping, come straight from Laminar, are rock solid and look like they came from the factory. I cannot overstate the difference it made in riding pleasure and stability at higher speeds.

just put a puig zracing dark smoke on my k8 750 and can tell a big difference at higher speeds. also keeps the front end down more being so high. I can feel the difference when doing wheelies compared to the stock windscreen. I have no problems with visibility being dark smoke. here's a pic. definately a lot higher. also read somewhere that the Zracing helps channel air to the sides more.

If you want dark smoke look at the Zero Gravity as they are a true dark smoke. Many of the Puig dark smokes have a purplish tint. Also the black puig isn't transparent. Just a tip :)
