: Took a look at the 08's today
Felix 04-10-2008, 03:37 PM Well I went over to the local dealer today and saw they had the 08 600's & 1000's in. One was sitting next to a 07 750 as well. so I got a good side by side comparison. Well it definitely confirmed that I made the right choice with my 07. I like the looks much better, plus I saved quite a bit considering I got a close out. The 08's might have a couple more bells & whistles, but much of it is stuff I wouldn't use like the mode switch, who needs it? Give me full power & let me modulate via the throttle. I also prefer the black rims on my B/W instead of blue rims, though I did think the other way around before I bought. I do like the 08 B/W color scheme a little better. I always thought the 07 could use a little more white on the fairing. I like the looks of the 07 gauges better too. I know it's pretty much the same gauge, just different background, but I like the white gauge background better.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am glad I got the 07 instead of waiting for the 08.
$.02 YMMV
Dober 04-10-2008, 04:08 PM I agree 100%. I liked the idea of getting the new bike but I got my 07 for a good price and I hated the exhaust on the 08. I love the stubby exhaust and I would have paid a lot more for an 08 and would have wanted to replace that exhaust too so thats just more money for me to blow on hookers and whiskey.
dynamo-acl 04-10-2008, 05:28 PM The 08 is growing on me with its styling but the can would need to go , which is an expense I have not seen the need to on my 07
The white silver is too blingy/girly for me
the screen is not tinted like the 07
the wheels will probably demolish themselves if ridden over some of the uk potholes
the thinner discs will wear quicker
as MCN said of the 08 its "polished perfection"
but my 07 is perfect so no polish needed:punk
short&fat_asian 04-10-2008, 09:16 PM I sat on the 08 for a few minutes, and it feels more comfortable.
The seat has more cushion for sure.
but i agree with ya, the exhaust is nasty and mode switch is a waste of money.
And i love my Red and White!
k6monster 04-10-2008, 09:18 PM i liked the 08s until I saw one in person. I hate the headlight, and exhaust. I will keep mine for awhile
squale147 04-11-2008, 12:40 AM im one of the guys waiting for an 08..i was tring to make a deal on a 07 but the dealers around here werent make an good deals for me to not by the 08..for another few hundred more gets the 08.. sooo i still wait. :banghead
foskamink 04-11-2008, 05:07 AM to be honest, i wish i bough a CBR 08, the 08 1000 cbr looks smaller and better then the k8 gsxr 600.. wonder what the cbr 600 looks like
MikeK06 04-11-2008, 06:45 AM Fosamink,
Not sure how the new 08 GSXR 600 will compare to the CBR but after riding the CBR 600 I can tell you it is a very nice machine. Compact, light, great motor for a 600 - my girlfriend rides one and it has been sitting in my garage for a few months so I have taken it out a couple times. I would be amazed if any of the 600's dethrone it this year as the best all around bike, it is that good IMO.

i think once you start riding your k8600 you will love it.. today all the bikes are so close to each other that there really is not a bad one out there.. to be honest myself i was looking to buy the cbr600rr at first but i made up my mind and went with the gsxr750. this will be my first suzuki sreet bike so im hoping i love it.. i always rode yamaha/hondas and one kawasaki but ive been thinking about the gsxr750 sence 2004 so its time that i try it out,,

I'm still in awe that it felt lighter than any 600 I've sat on. It almost felt as light as the ninja 250.
