I am thinking of beginning CCS amature racing in the 2005 season. But I want to know how much on average you guys are spending per season on maintaining your race bike? Also what kind of physical preparation are you guys doing to stay in shape during the off season? May sound like a stupid question but I have always wanted to circuit race and I want to get myself prepared. Thanks.

500-800 if you go on the very light side, it also depends how far you live from the track and weather you use race fuel, also it depends how many races you do, if you buy tires add another 340 into the mix, if you have a fall add more money and if you forget something at home add even more money, now add lobster dinners that your teammates like to have plus other little expenses here and there and you'll be looking at a ton of cash...

I usually spend about $600-$700 per race weekend to race a 600. That includes tires, entry fees, and travel expenses. I camp out and BBQ at the track to save money.

For training, I do some light weightlifting(need strength but don't want to gain mass) and do an hour of cardio 3-4 times a week. I do it all year, not just in the off season.

these guys mentioned cost, as far as training goes... a lot of bike riding, and weight lifting helps me.. if you could only do one thing id say cardio would be the best.

OK so it seems like the only thing i did not think about were the entrance fees and pit pass. I won't eat $100 of food by myself. Do you usually go through a set of tires EVERY weekend? $550 - $800 per weekend... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif? Looks like I am going to have to have some poker parties.

I get a good two weekends out of a set of tires on my 750 but that's because I'm slow like fever!!

Cool man. Thanks for the reply. I guess I will begin to sock some money away. I don't think I will be burning up too much tires on my first season. Maybe the track days next year will tell me something.

Why the $60 for a pit pass? What exactly does that do for you? We don't have those fees here, that's why I ask. Is it for you or for your friends/family? Our pits here are open to anyone who has paid entrance to the track, usually $10 per day/$15 per weekend.

IF i don't buy tires, I spend right around 400 per weekend. I run 2 races. I also drive a gas guzzler to the track which is about 400 miles away. You can get more out of tires if you're slow like me, I got 1 set to last a few race weekends.... VIR, Summit (5 races) and 2 Loudon weekends.

It's about 200 in gas for me, 30 to get in, 120 to race (if you don't pre reg), 50 for misc. That's $400 Add 300-350 for tires ervery couple of weekends...
