I am looking at a part list for what I need :banghead, and I was wondering if you guys knew any other place I should look for parts. I haven't been able to find anything for the 08 gsxr 600, not even ebay. I have the part numbers, should I just try to contact Suzuki directly?

Lol no, just slowly fixing her :) I replaced the stator cover with the woodcraft one, and I got a new shifter lever, the new clutch lever is in the mail and the last piece was the upper cowl that the windshield fits into. I don't NEEEED to replace it, but it doesn't look great. I figure I have at least another week or so to fix it before I should be on the road since its still cold up here in Boston. I learned my lesson with the cold+new tires:banghead:banghead.

This bike is cursed... first I low-sided it on some dirt, next it gets a light tip over in my drive a-la my neighbor's drunk buddy :banghead. Today, some tool bag hit it parked in front of my buddy's place. About 50% fairing damage (side it fell on, and side it got hit on)+ the clutch lever/bracket it attaches to got bent, and rear tail light and socket got messed up. I was spared my upper fairing thank god :cheers, that is the biggest PITA to replace.
Here's my question, since it was a hit and run, does my insurance ding me? I know I will have to cover my deductible but has it happened to any of you where your premiums went up too?
BTW when your bike's plastics are messed up, it's a good time to let your girlfriend hop on and try her newly learned MSF skills without fear of tip overs.

I just fixed my hit and run last week. Insurance will cover you (minus the deductible) but without having the other drivers insurance or plate number it is considered your fault and your rates will go up, guaranteed!!!
All the cars that stopped to see if I was ok saw the side swipe but no one got the plate of the truck.
Oneida was the best choice!!!

Oh man, I'm glad to hear you're ok. That's such BS... like you have time to think "Oh I better get his plate number" as you are rolling around on the pavement.
From what you say, it sounds like my best option is to buy the parts and fix it myself... Damn I need to get into the insurance business.

If your insurance company cant pin it on someone else they'll get you for it. Either way they will get paid!!! It does sound like a good racket to me too.
Unless the damage is major just fix it yourself. Mine was about 900.00 to bring her back to new and some of those parts I didnt really have to replace but wanted a pristine bike again. Deductible 500.00.... If your taking 2K and up I'd go for the insurance claim
Good luck to ya
