BuiltforSin 03-30-2008, 07:44 PM What's with all the crappy K8 pics? Need better pics so I can decide if I like it or not.
AllMtrSlut 03-31-2008, 03:33 PM 500 mile rpm limitaion???? HARD BRAKE IN!!!!!!! go read about it, if you want your engine to work well ride it like your riding out of hell. But serious,
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
read that so you know what iam talking about.
foskamink 03-31-2008, 03:58 PM btw those break in secrets are bs
squale147 03-31-2008, 04:27 PM btw those break in secrets are bs
why are there bs
Gaetan 03-31-2008, 05:00 PM I will follow a manufacturer recommendations for engine break-in 10x over some dude's theory posted on the internet. After all, Suzuki engineers design and build the freaking engine so they surely know something about how to best break them in.
you am in England. Took these pics with my mobile. I'll take better ones soon and upload them.
I'm wondering whether i should trust those break in theories on the net. Has anyone tried them?
AllMtrSlut 03-31-2008, 07:37 PM btw those break in secrets are bs
he does a whole write up about why they are not bs, and all you have to say its bs and we should believe you...:lol

i dunno about you, but have you ever taken your bike to a dealership? you take it in ok, and it comes out fucked up. just read the thread i posted and his arguments speak for themselves.

.. and what does that have to do with engine break-in???
To answer your question, no I have so far never received my bike in a worst shape than it went into the dealer ... lucky ??? maybe. I try do do as much repair/tune-up as I can competently do on my bike. I hope to be able to do the same for the GSX-R750 if it ever shows up. :wait
AllMtrSlut 04-01-2008, 12:32 PM the reason i bring that up is because its not that these dealers know everything, or else we would not be geting 750s with a herky jerky throttle or other issues people are haveing. I just posted so people can read a good argument for the hard break in, but to each his own. just thought i would add my $.02 good luck on the bike!
blue egg 04-02-2008, 02:07 AM wow i love the new rear end on the k8 congrats
Nicegy525 04-02-2008, 06:01 PM I have spoken with VERY experienced bike tuners in my area and they ALL agree with the Mototune website's method of new bike break in.
The factory's instructions are political BS to cover their own asses.
getting back on topic:
NICE BIKE!!!
C.Edwards 04-03-2008, 11:58 AM cool...nice...
Did a good 40 miles today, the brakes are pretty damn good and the pazzo levers are amazing. Got the shorty levers which makes it easy to flick through the gears and the two finger braking has become easier as well. I think i'm going to whack the whole 500 miles by next week and get my first service done some how. I wonder if getting it done on the dyno would be of any harm.

Yeah I checked with my mechanic also, who use to work for the Canadian Superbike teams, he recommended this also.
MikeK06 04-04-2008, 12:43 PM Zoi,
How is the throttle transition on the 08? Is the bike smooth closing and opening the throttle abruptly or did the new injectors and ECU take care of the old issue? Hit any nice roads yet? How does the turn in and handling feel with the electronically controlled damper?
peasly23 04-04-2008, 02:12 PM +1 on the Damper... I'd really like to know if I need to replace it with a GPR, especially because I'm on one wheel more than I'm on two...
foskamink 04-04-2008, 06:30 PM he does a whole write up about why they are not bs, and all you have to say its bs and we should believe you...:lol
if you had a understanding on the concept you would know the debate, its very left adn right discussion in general, but i do trust the professionals and the engineers rather then this guy, his theories support he can gain a little extra hp off the initial get go, but what he dosnt explain and test is 10,000 miles later ect...
Hi Mike, the throttle transition is very smooth and you're right they have got rid of that old problem. I haven't hit any nice roads yet unfortunately coz of work, as for the elctronic dampers to be honest i cant seem to feel the difference as yet
vwmanic 04-13-2008, 02:19 AM I Have Looked At This Running In Lark And Have Spoken To Many Engine Builders /tuners And They All Say The Same Running In To 600miles Is Rubbish All Engines These Days Are Bench Tested Anyway! I Picked My 750 K8 Three Weeks Ago And Ran It In For The First Two Miles Until I Could Get Out Of The Town Then Carried On Like It Was My Last 750 K6 Which By The Way Kept Going Back To The Dealers To Be Mended As It Had A Re-ocurring Problem With Water Getting In The Ecu And Shorting It Out Three Times They Tried To Mend It But Couldn't So Much To The Theory That Suzuki Know Best! How Mant Race Bikes Do You See Running In To 600 Miles And They Race At Upto 200 Mph And Ridden Harder Than Most Of Us Will Ever Do !
peasly23 04-13-2008, 07:55 AM Yeah, but those engines only have to last a race or two. They usually get replaced often. We're wondering about Long Term here.
Oh, btw, why is every first letter of every word capatalized? Your program messed up or something?
GSXR-Paul 04-13-2008, 09:27 AM Damm I caved in, just found a runout deal on a dark blue/black k7 750, I just love that color combo. just sent an email so will find out tomorrow.
fucking k8's are taking to long to get here.
rraiderr 04-13-2008, 03:16 PM I am not going to get in to the mototune debate but the bike are run up at the factory to red line on a rear wheel dyno.
There is a 3 part video of the Suzuki factory making the gixxer. It shows the step of every bike being run up on the dyno to red line in more than one gear.
Even if you do not care you should watch the video as it was very cool watching all the stuff they still do by hand.
peasly23 04-13-2008, 07:35 PM Can you post a link?
I thought they were all shipped with no oil and fluids? I would think we would be able to tell if there was residue in the motors from them running our motors before hand. Plus, an extreme waste of oil.
almano 04-13-2008, 07:53 PM Can you post a link?

No, all the bikes comes already prepped by the factory. you just open the crate put the windscreen and the brake lever on it and go.
The link is:

Go to the Suzuki section. if you click hide clips then click play clips you can see all the clips together.
Bearsfirehawk 04-14-2008, 07:02 PM MotoTune FTW. Did this on my last 2 bikes and they ran strong as hell. Never a drip of oil anywhere it shouldnt be either.

Make you cringe when some dealers charge hundreds of dollars for setup when as Almano stated the bike damn close to being fully setup.
The clip is cool. Crazy how Suzuki still does so much by hand.
