Here, I know that there were acouple of posts about putting a 1000 wheel on a 600. Well, I just did this today and I thought I'd let those of you who were curious that it just fits right up. You don't need anything new, all your 600 pieces will work. Have a look:

As stated in the other topic you made, the only reason to put a 1000 wheel on your 600 is to be a poser! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
At any rate, it makes it look cooler, but that is all...
handling goes http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif

Didn't you need to get the 1K spacer that goes N between the left side of the hub and the swingarm???
Not hating it's your bike some people like that phat tire look.

looks beefy!.
All this stuff about the handling going straight down the toilet is a little exaggerated.
You now have a bigger contact patch which isn't all bad.
If you're worried then space the rear shock back up the equivalent difference between the height of a 180/55 & a 190/50.
i think that should cancel out any major geometry issues but I'm open to correction. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

the problem wasn't the rim fitting, its the 600 rim fitting on a 1k tire. Plus the space allowed for the swingarm will be changed. yes the best tire for cornering and what not is the 180. A fat tire with some lower pressure will just allow more sturdyness when wheeling. Just take her easy it will def. handle differently.

I seriously doubt he is going to be Mr Yates on the road. I do agree that folks have taken the slower corners tooo far. Now if you are doing track days so be it,but it is nice to know just in case. Looks nice
