: test of top 5 600 08 bikes
foskamink 03-24-2008, 07:34 PM well its mainly talking with a little footage but heres how they rate them
1. Honda
2. yamaha
3. triumph
4. suzuki
5. kawa
honda won bike of year alot of mags and reviews last year, problem is its ugly compared to gixxer.. and the honda dealership near me are assholes. so they lost my 15k worth of business
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kBKZufKeBo&feature=user
see what they have to say, its not really negative, they just say the changes on gixxer arnt as noticable as the others
rraiderr 03-24-2008, 08:27 PM Thanks for the post.
SUBKING 03-25-2008, 07:50 AM Good stuff! I must admit I loved my old RR but the 08 Gixxer took it for me this year.
scarface007 03-25-2008, 08:45 AM blablablablablabla >>>>>> Im a die hard suzuki fan i dont care what a bunch of magazine guys say , for all we know they are gettimg money to say all this stuff. one thing tho , i drove a 2007 RR and that thing handles real nice compared to my 02 gsxr 600 , but i have not rode a 2007/08 gsxr yet so ill have to wait on that .
TheCunningMan 03-25-2008, 11:16 AM Frankly zook has done much with the 600 in years. Their main focus is keeping the 1000 on the front row and the top step, period. Honda and Yamaha are much stronger in development of their 600s and kawi is not far behind. Even built to the hilt the zook 600 gets smacked around by the other brands. And has been for years now.
That being said I think its still the most street friendly of the supersports. Which is why it doesn't do well in the reviews.
live4speed 03-25-2008, 04:28 PM i think MCN has something against Zookie! they have rated their bikes near the bottom in both the 600 and 1000 class...i guess they need to do an 08 750 comparo...see who wins that fuckers!

Probably because they only have 600s and 1000s while we get it all.:burnoutIm sure they have more time working on R&D for just two bikes, while Suzuki is working on 3 motors and 2 bikes.
foskamink 03-25-2008, 05:39 PM i was pretty sure that like. Late Srad - K3/4
suzuki completely dominated 600s back then?
I have loved riding the 07 suz, Im toying with the idea of Yamaha for next year.
Nice post.
foskamink 03-25-2008, 06:12 PM well this is my first 600, which i havnt even been able to ride due to snow. but when ur rideing a 125 or 250. at 30/35hp, you dont really care what brand you will get.
i always wanted a gsxr, but when i saw like a few year old second hand R6 for sale, i thought, dam that would do, even squid ninja.
I had an 03 r6, Bike was amazing. Been on the 07 for a year. It's decent. Had motor issues and frame issues. It's been rebuilt and its paid for. Ill keep it and buy something new soon.
peasly23 03-25-2008, 08:20 PM What I'd like to see is a review of the 600s and the 750's/775's together, and the 1000s & 750/775s together to see what they say then. That would really help the guys wondering if they should go with the 750s or not.
Gixer-ElixR 04-03-2008, 10:14 PM In my superbike mag. They do a versus battle of the Ducati 848,Triumph 675, Honda CBR 600, and Suzuki GSXR 750. They rated the GSXR 750 the best out of these 4 bikes.
GSXR 750-"Ultimatley, however, resistance to the Suzuki GSXR 750 is futile. It's the boss of the road and the track and its truly one of the most beautifully balanced bikes the world has ever seen."
Ducati 848- "For all the glittering Marchesini wheels, trick Brembo brakes flash dash and sumptuous styling, the Ducati struggled to live up to it's dynamic billing as pretender of the middleweight crown".
squale147 04-03-2008, 10:38 PM you cant beleave everything you read..one mag will say something deff then another... i honestly think that all the bikes are great.. like what you like and dont let a mag tell you what to ride..
grtfast 04-05-2008, 07:14 PM I'm sure that if you put matt mladin on the lowest ranked 600 from 10 years ago, he would still kick all of our asses.
It ain't the bike guys. Pick the bike you like and buy it, the differences are very subtle.
Gixxerbutter 04-06-2008, 02:07 AM I don't think MCN reviews bikes fairly or clearly. This year when the new zx-10 came out they compare it to last years so called winner which they say this time was the R1. But if you look back at their videos when the R1 came out they said it was good but not great and the winner was the fireblade, honda cbr100rr.
I don't get it. Did they do a switch a roo or what. They did their liter bike comparos and the cbr1000 was the winner. (2007) They showed a video and all the riders chose the fireblade.
I was kinda surprised when this year they said last years winner was the R1. Huh, I thought it was the fireblade.
And they never have the gsxr 1000 at #1, when most other reviews has it at #1.
I like motorcycle-usa better. They seem to be a little more in detail and point out the flaws. Kinda like when every european reveiwer looked at the new KTM RC8 and said it was fantastic and didn't point out anything bad. Motorcycle-usa pointed out that the gear shifting sucked sorta. And vibes through the handlebars at higher rpm.
I'll take into account what they all say but in the end I just find out for myself. Wether it's me buying a certain bike or having a friend buy a certain bike and me riding it.
To me they are all pretty kickass with things I like more on this bike than that bike.
Can't wait till the RC8 comes to the states. But then again right around the time it comes out the new K9 should be out. And I heard they are going to do what kawi and honda did. Smaller, gp style, faster.............
TheCunningMan 04-06-2008, 05:16 PM Can't wait till the RC8 comes to the states.
The RC8 may be the most overhyped bike around. It just got its ass smoked by BMW and stock Buell 1125rs in endurance.
foskamink 04-06-2008, 09:38 PM just like say, i took a picture, and i put the little card from camera in a too big slot in my computer, and its stuck, i actually do this on every laptop, i will never learn.
shredhead 04-15-2008, 01:52 AM FASTBIKES UK; group test 600 K8
Their results:
1)zx6
2)cbr600
3)gsxr 600

Whole different story,isn't it? :biggrin
Conclusion: test these bikes and buy the one that suits you best
rraiderr 04-15-2008, 03:24 AM Funny the test I saw on line the ZX-6R was dead last.

french bike magazine says
1. triumph
2. yamaha
3. suzuki
4. honda cbr
5. kawasaki
actually they were ranked by times on a track.. i think suzuki was half a lap slower with the same rider as the triumph, and the ninja was about 1 second behind..
so really theres no difference for the skill of most of us.. more just different bike suits others better
shredhead 04-15-2008, 03:22 PM Funny the test I saw on line the ZX-6R was dead last.
Well, buy the fastbikes UK june edition and you'll see i am right and the zx6 is in their opinion nr1 and cbr600 is very close.
connan 04-15-2008, 06:49 PM High all I'm new to this part of the forum, usually on 1K. Anyway
I have an 07 CBR600 and have ridden 675 ZX6 and 07 GSXR600 and you are really splitting hairs to pic them apart.
I would happily buy any one of them, In actual fact I have the hots for a Gixxer 750.
Have a pic of my honda so you have something to put sh!t on.
