If you filed jointly and have a kid, is it the primary persons SSN? Also, how do you know if you get direct deposit vs. check?

I think it is all based on how you filed your income taxes...

yes thats correct and wtchtwr your right about that too. if you filed electronically and your income taxes were direct deposited into you bank account then thats how the rebate will come. if you filed by mail and you received a check in the mail then thats how your rebate will come.

IS there a final word on whether or not this is just an advance on next year's return? I'm self employed and pay estimated quarterlies.. so if this is just an advance.. then I just have to give it right back..

I looked under the FAQ and saw this:

Q. Will the payment I receive in 2008 reduce my 2008 refund or increase the amount I owe for 2008?

A. No, the stimulus payment will not reduce your refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

WOOHOO!!!! :cheers

We as a couple don't make more than $150,000 but the calculator is saying $600 TOTAL??

I wonder is it has something to do with my being self-employed.. I have mt tax appt with my accountant tomorrow so I will ask him then..

So if you get your tax refund via electronic debit you will get your rebate via electronic debit?
