: k7/8 750 what would you buy
GSXR-Paul 03-23-2008, 09:34 AM hey guys first post...
looking at ether a k7 or k8 750 ..
We all should know the '08 engine hasn't changed too much better ecu and injectors.I think the k8 is real value for money the suspension upgrades alone are worth it.
Im still leaning towards buying the k7 tho as it 2k cheaper in australia.
And I think it looks better with the shorty exhaust the stacked headlight looks better than the '08 as well, the '07 blue/black is probably the best color Ive seen.
What I want to know are the headlights useless on the 06/07 for night riding?
The k8 looks like it will have really good lighting, altho it is f'ugly
I know I dont like the stacked headlight on my '03 busa it just didnt put enough light out to the sides for night riding.
yeah and sorry for "not another what bike is better post" :nono :flipoff
andrewGSXR600 03-23-2008, 10:00 AM I personally would go with the k7 since it is so that much cheaper and still a brand new bike, with the 2 grand you would save you can buy full gear and still have money left to change out sprockets and do a slip on or something like that
rraiderr 03-23-2008, 12:05 PM The question may be better answered if they fixed the herky jerky throttle issues with the K8.
sportbike506 03-23-2008, 12:12 PM We are waiting to see if that throttle issue has been fixed also . The 07 750 here is 11,400 and the 08 750 is 12,999 so only 1600 difference . The 750 will be my wife's bike
squale147 03-23-2008, 12:43 PM before i got my o8((still waiting)) i was looking for a good deal on a 07 but it was not that much of a diff in price so i went with the o8. but i do like the exaust on the 07 better
AllMtrSlut 03-23-2008, 01:08 PM i just like the look so much more, so to be honest i would go with the k7.
foskamink 03-23-2008, 01:56 PM the k8 is much better in mid range rpm, then theres the suspension and the 3 modes, the new light is much better.
also, id buy the k8 just because its brand new stylea nd everything, you can say this is the best bike to date and be correct, with the k7 you will always know you have second best and bought it when u shoulda bought the k8. if u already got rideing gear get k8 if ur short of cash and dont got gear get k7.
either way. k8

+1:cheers
RaddHazzard 03-23-2008, 05:51 PM I had a boner for the K8 for a long time. But im glad i went with the K7. I saved alot of money and used it to buy oil filters, oil, gear, disc lock, bike cover, insurance, etc. If money is not an issue def go for K8, i think it looks a bit sweeter than the previous year.:cheers

Well we dont actually have any 08's here yet so they dont have any hard prices for the 08 yet . And is it really necessary to post in this manner ? Who the fuck pays msrp --- nice
I was just saying thats the cost here so far . I know everything in the USA is cheaper than here . I may even buy the next bike in Maine because of it.
COMEBACK 03-23-2008, 10:01 PM I never had actually. Some people complained about some abrupt throttle action. I think it's goes back to riding style....:scratch
All 600 & 750 has what is best described as an 'outdated throttle pick up'. This is just how the bike is and has been mentioned in many magazine tests as a negative point.. Some people refer to this as the 'herky/jerky' throttle response, which it is not.
The h/j thing is far more serious, it is intermittent, can in some cases be re-produced and the symptoms are:
- sudden fuel cut off at low rpm's, very jumpy throttle response, rough running engine, more engine vibrations, etc......
Riding style does not matter and riding a bike with these problems at the track is outright dangerous.
I hope they have fixed this for the K8.
travistheussj 03-23-2008, 10:24 PM wow, i'm sorry cursing hurt your feelings
squale147 03-23-2008, 10:48 PM well i hope that is gone on the new 08 or i just dont have that on my bike..a few guys seemed really pissed.. thanks guys for all the info
almano 03-23-2008, 10:59 PM wow, i'm sorry cursing hurt your feelings
I think cursing hurts everyones feelings especially around Easter :nono
GSXR-Paul 03-23-2008, 11:15 PM yeah should mention the k7 is in run out mode so they dropped the price 2k.
what do people think of the front light on the 07 does it do the job good or not.
I would have thought most would be saying the new suspension is why you would get a k8, but everyone is still talking about the motor
riceburnr2005 03-24-2008, 09:20 AM id go with the K7...the headlight on my 600 does just fine at nite with the high beams on
GSXR-Paul 03-24-2008, 07:38 PM K7 it is, was at the dealership today and they said they would cover my on-road cost.

i could see the future, next week maybe monday or tuesday you get your new bike, by thursday friday a k8 will pull up at the lights, and laugh at you even tho your like "this is brand new buddy"
then they pull away and you feel inadequate, totally helpless and then be forced to kill yourself :blink
rraiderr 03-24-2008, 08:27 PM If they are dropping the price $2000 US that is a crazy deal and how could you not go for it.
They are not dropping prices like that on the 07 around here.
MikeK06 03-25-2008, 07:01 AM I was looking at the 07's back in December/January and was going to buy one if I could get it for over 1K less OTD under the 08. Came close at that point, around 750-800 less but at the time dealers would not come down any further, I am sure with the 08's hitting the sales floor they might deal a little more at this point.
GSXR-Paul 03-25-2008, 07:34 AM should mention Im in australia so its 2k australian.
the light isnt the biggest drawcard , if I get the k8 it will because of the suspension upgrades which are the best thing about that bike

If that happens I will borrow my friends turbo'piggy ('busa) and apee's the god's of horsepower with a demo :punk
foskamink 03-25-2008, 08:32 AM yeh im originally from brisbane, prices are the same there as in switzerland/france.
think my friend paid 21k AUD for his 07 R1, and the AUD AND USD are almost 1 for 1
how much is k8 600 in australia?

how much is k8 600 in australia?
k8 600 14,990 , k7 600 is 12,990
k8 750 $16,490 (was told, think its more like 16,750) k7 750 $14,490
k8 1000 $18,490 k7 $16,490
no k8's have landed in australia yet from what I seen I might be wrong.
kesner suzuki is saying late april atm
reading on the forum how much fun people are having going racing, I might just get the k8 600.... but Im too use to riding big horsepower bikes and was thinking the 600 would be too much of a power cut for me.
Im just an average rider can get a knee down, but choose not to most of the time.
