: To get the 750 or not...

After years of riding 600s I'm thinking about moving to the 750. A liter bike is out of the question for me, I don't want one. But REGARDLESS of the money, if the money didn't matter, is there any reason NOT to get the 750? I'm a twisties & wheelie rider all day long, and was thinking that if it's the same size bike but with a bigger/better engine, why shouldn't I just get the 750? Thoughts?

In other words, will the extra weight/engine size HURT my 600 riding ability at all, especially in the twisties or on one wheel?

I just got my 07 750. I only got to ride it for about 1/2 hour and it has been snowing every day since then. My first impression is that it is very smooth and didn't seem like too much power for me although I'm a newbie on the street and I was not getting into high rpms.

i feel the same way as you do about the 750. i think its the best bike for the cash. i hade 1 other 750 at of all the bikes i hade and i loved it.. it was a 97 zx7R .. the bike was overweight for the time but it was fast and a good handler... so i think if the new gixxer 750 is eveything that they say it is well i have found love once again.. now if my dealler would get it for me,,

I was wondering the same thing. Is it worth it to go from a 600 to a 750 or just get the 1000? Is it going to be that much of an upgrade to get a 750? After thinking about it I think my next bike will be a 750 just for the fact that it's a well balanced bike.

If you think a 750 is not enough for you than you obviously need a 1000 to be fulfilled. The 750 is not a bike for power hungry folks. It's for folks who want the most well balanced bike on the market.

750 all the way. It's has more nuts than most can handle and yes, there is a notable difference between that and the 6.

Definitely. Although I'm satisfied with the 6, if I were able to do it again, 750 no question.

I went down to a 07-ZX6R last year thinking it would be better for track days. I was not digging it and it was not doing it for me. I am going to give the 750 a try again. I do hear the Honda is a ripper so maybe you will have a different experience than I did. The 08 gixxer 600 looks like it might be a ripper on the track.

I got my 600 brand new in 2004. A deal I couldn't pass up on a 2006 750 with 2500 miles presented itself, so now I have a 750. The 600 is an amazing machine, but the 750 is like a 600 on steroids. :punk

In all reality, the 750 is doing better for me as a street bike. I can turn alot lower revs on the 750 where I'd be thrashing on the 600 in the same situations.

I think the 750 is a very well balance machine and the weight difference IMO is not noticable

congratulations mate, how much time is the loan over. what i would be doing right now is, putting away the payment amount, from this day onwards, even if you havnt spent the money and dont need to repay yet. that way once u buy the bike and the payments start coming you will be ready and ahead of the game, that way if you run into trouble youll be fine.

Thanks man, The loan will be over 3 or 4 years at 4.49% or 4.74% respectively. I haven't figured it out yet.

This will be my first Suzuki and I can't wait to join the crew.

:wtf I can believe it 4.49% :cursing, I cant believe how low your loans are over there, are they just giving money away. and $10k for a 08 750 :banghead, :banghead

best I could get was $14,490 for a k7 ( normally 16,490 )
and 9.45% for the loan :banghead

If the 07 750 had a all black color scheme, I would have gotten a 750. But the black/matte black k7 600 had me hooked since I saw it in person. The k8 750's have an all black so i would get that if i could but i do love my 600...im not gonna lie.
