I am reserching for winter mods to my 01 1000.....top of the list is to have a better handleing motorcycle for next season. Has anyone used Race Tech to revalve the forks and rear shock also ?....if so how much of a improvement has been noticed ? I have herd alot of good things about Traxxion Dynamics but feel they are a little high in cost just for the forks alone. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have to say that i believe in race Tech, their technology and their theories. I have two bikes that have Race Tech gold valves, springs and fluid. It was a substantial improvement over my stock suspension. Both bikes have Ohlins rears but I have a stock shock for my F3 that I have a gold valve for and will A/B compare to the Ohlins.

Valves: $150.00

Watch Ebay and know the model # you need for your bike. I bought a set for $75 because they were listed for a Kwakasucky. Most bikes use the 20mm valve kit.

Springs are $99. Depending on your bike and weright you may need them and you may not. On a G1K a 180 lb rider is close to the stock spring in the front. .95 is best for moderate to fast riding. Their fluid is super slick and a bit pricey but I believe they have a system of parts that are designed to be used in conjunction with each other so I buy it.

Thank you for the quick reply.....I was giveing thought to going with a Ohlins rear shock but feel that the stock shock can perform almost as good if tuned right etc....not needing to shell out a grand for a new shock and leaveing money for other mods.

Gold valve kit for front forks on ebay that will fit 01 and 02 1k. Even comes with a video. I know these are at least $150.00 new from the shops.

I have not ridden on a re valved stock shock. The $630 I spent for the Ohlins rear was well spent though. I think you would be satisfied with a Race Tech valve in the shock. The forks make a big difference.
