i just got straps in for my 03 1k and don't see where to hook them to....another post said there was an adapter...do i need an adapter and where do i get it if i need one. thanks

I have a canyon dancer..You can get it from your local shop or look online..It goes over the grips and then you put the hooks from the tie downs through the loops..Works great..

You don't HAVE to have an "adapter"....but I use a Canyon Dancer as well!

what is a canyon dancer? i have straps from Schnitz Racing and i don't see a bolt on the caliper to use like it says in the instructions. how do you do it without an adapter? is a canyon dancer awhole new strap setup or just an adapter? how much? thanks guys

Guys I think hes talking about strapping the front forks down so he can run at the drag strip, and not towing his bike. Im not too positive on this I assume you wrap around the brake bracket and around the lower fork clamp. All you do is hit the brakes and pull on the straps or just sit on the tank.

You need an adapter I didn't know that at first and put it on, and it broke a couple of parts.

yes, i am referring to drag straps on the front...sorry, i wasn't clear on that. where did you get your adapter after you broke your parts?

I made some straps out of a 3000 lb cargo strap and a $5.00 gromet kit from Mernards they bolt from the outboard axle pinch bolt to the inside lower triple clamp pinch bolt they worked great and allowed me to keep some travel used them with know problems as a matter of fact I drove the 10 mile to the track with them installed. http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/DSC00001.JPG
