It sounds like the stv actuatorr is stripping/ malfunctioning at power up. also, the valves are really only cracking open a little, like maybe 1/8. I opened it up,(stva) and the gears are not stripped. The servo unit runs fine by itself when not running the other gears.
The whole reason we got into this was a bogging thing which seems to go back to the STV. THe TPS was set high, also. Another point of interest or two: The throttle body has been off and on several times lately 2. The STV arm assembly seems to "hang up" when it is trying to roll past the cold start, on the other end off the throttle body.

when it open does it make a little clicking sound then on the close it does as well? mines does the same since I have taken it off because o a light noise itself and a clacking noise when i open throttle about 3 to 4k putting back together and will see what results is. Check the slack on cable make sure that the one when facing if on bike (left 1) has zero slack but not to tight and the other one has a lil play in it like 1mm of slack. mines a 01 so we maybe on a whole diffrent level which i doubt but hey i responded http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
