I have an 01 gsxr 600, when i try to hold a steady rpm around 5 or 6grand in 2nd or 3rd it starts to get jumpy. Its liek diving in a car in 1st gear and not having enough rpms and it starts to get all jumpy. I have no idea why this is, if this has happend to anyone or knows what the problem of this is please let me know.

you have a full exhaust and no power commander?

I have the same problem with my 02' 600. Its not as dramatic as not having enough throttle but it still jumps. I think it has something to do with my TRE because when it is switched off it doesn't happen as much. Bike is stock except for the TRE

no its just a slip on. Yea the bike is mostly stock except for sprocket and can. I also have a Pair mod on it. I have the stuff to put the TRE mod on which i have heard can correct this problem. Although im not sure if i even want to do this cuz the TRE and Pair mod are controversial mods to do to your bike. My input on the Pair mod is that it sucks and doesnt do shit.

best thing to do is try it and find out for your self rather than take someone else word for it you can always take it off.

Did it do it before you did the PAIR mod? You could always switch it back to normal. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Mine just does it bad when she's cold. once I've hit operating temp I'm good to go.
Do you have any other problems at other RPM ranges. ie. lack of power or hesitation?

No thats the only problems i have with the rpms. There is no hesitation with the throttle its all rigth on except for it getting a little jumpy at steady rpm in 2nd and third gear.

Mine does the same thing... But only in first gear... and only in the first 5-10% of throttle... after that I'm good. I have a PCII and a yosh slip on with the correct map downloaded. Weird.

same as dallas gixxer... only in first and only at low throttle... The TRE did help my surging though and it's much less noticable.

How many miles are on the bike and have you done a tune up at all?

I have a '02 600m , and in 2nd and 3rd gear while hard on the throttle, it starts to jerk through the rpms. i wonder if it's sort of the same thing. i wish i knew what was up with my bike.http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

My bike jumps a bit in almost all gears when there is low throttle applied. I also have done the pair mod and agree with you that it sucks. I've done the TRE as well and think that it's awesome. Makes the bike shift smoother and its so much more enjoyable to ride.

I had the same problem with my bike too. Got the switchable TRE great for riding through town its super smooth.

Welcome to the new generation 600's. Alot of the 600's do the "stuttering" or "surging" at mid rpm's and steady throttle. I got a PCIII and custom map made and the problem is entirely gone.

how much did that all end up costing you, because im not looking to dump alot of money into fixing the problem?

PCIII will run about $150-$185 if you can find some deals on the K&N site or other sites. The re-map will vary shop to shop. I had mine done in Dallas, TX for $200 even. It was well worth the money for smoothing out the power and eliminating hesitation and the surging problem you have. Throttle response is more crisp and instant. Not to mention the 4HP gain and 3lbs of torque. Hope this helps.

Bryan, I think its your vagina juice leaking into the wires thats causeing the unsteadyness of the bike. Try inserting a tampon before you go riding tomorrow. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/flipa.gif

Mine does the same exact thing. (02 750). I think mine is cause of the TRE. Its been off for a while and didn't notice it. When I was washing the bike I noticed the TRE was off. I switched it on and thats when it started jumping. I have the TRE, pair, 1K header, drilled can and -1 up front with stock map. Think it would help if I got it dyno tuned?

I don't know if anybody has ever told you this but Suzuki makes a little device that goes on your bike that restricts 1st and 2nd gear on the 600 750 and the 1K. the Busa's are restricted on 1, 2, and 6. the easiest way to get out of your little gerk if to find somebody that knows what they are doing on the new bikes and put a 12Volt resister on 2 wires that makes the bike think that it's doing it's job resisting you in first and second but it's really not! i garentee that anybody that has this done will never ride a bike that doesn't have it done again. if you have any questions let me know but i did it to my bike and my top speed in second jumped 6 mph!!!! it's great http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

I agree that it is the vagina juice. My 02' 750 did the same thing until I came out of the closet and admitted that I am an ass pounder!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/piss.gif

If you are referring to the TRE mod...I think everyone knows this is the greatest invention for injected Gixxers. However, it's 5th gear that is not restricted. Also, it's supposed to be a 15,000 ohm resistor on the 600 & 750 and 6,800 ohm on the 1000 and Busa. Note - resistors are measured in ohms....not volts. Second note - I don't know of any device like this made by Suzuki....since technically by installing a TRE your warranty is voided, however, there are several plug and play aftermarket TREs out there.
