I had my new bike (900 miles) dyno'd last night and I have 149 at the wheel, is this normal for a bike with full exhuast and a pcIII. The exxhaust I have is the Brock Hindle Davidson Smart system. The curve looked good to me, and the guy running the dyno but I just thought the #'s were rather low. I tried to upload chart but it said it was too big

was this corrected or uncorrected?
I have an akra and DFO and had 157 hp corrected on a Dynojet 250.

I posted up a dyno chart for my 03 a couple of weeks back, as you can see 157.7 at the whheel, corrected with Akro end can and PC3usb

In saying corrected do you mean there was a fan involved? If that is the case no

149 is a bit low, a 100% stock bike should be 150-153 SAE hp. But then again it would have been best for you to do a before baseline run prior to the erxhaust install. What type of dyno was this?

Fans on 99.9999% of all dynos are ONLY used for cooling, not to attempt to pressurize the airbox. To do that proerly, you need a wind tunnel. Else you get something less than expected results.

It was a dyno jet, and looking at my post I made a mistake it was only 146 not 149, sorry for the mix up. If 149 was bad I know 146 has to be way to low. Any ideas? If it would help I can e-mail the dyno run. The air/fuel looks good to me. Now I wonder if my exhaust is actually taking away peak hp, but adding more evenly through the curve. I read good things about this exhaust in drag racing forums, and I used the map that bhd gave me with the system. Thanks guys

FWIW, my 03 had 150 hp (SAE corrected) stock and 155 hp with Yosh slip-on and remap of stock ECU. Raw numbers (if I remember correctly) were 135 stock and 140 with the pipe.

This was on a Superflow dyno. It has two huge air ducts (8" in diameter?) that the operator can adjust and aim directly into the ram air vents, and is supposed to push air at to match speed on the dyno. Does this truly approximate 140+ mph air pressure to the airbox? I kinda doubt it, but I'd guess it works better than just a big friggin fan blowing at the front of the bike?
