God Damn son.

Just out of curiousity, what have you had to replace in that period? Engine rebuild? clutch?etc...? What year and size is that beast? Just curious as to the life of these suckers. 50,000 is incredible... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/applause.gif

Excellent job my man....I'm at 15,000 and trying to figure out how to do a valve clearance for possible adjustment....but you..oh good for ya. Some people say sportbikes and their high compressions cannot go many miles...not true......... with a lotta love japanese motorcycles can go a long way!

Guys 20,000 non-race miles is not alot don't think your ride is high mileage just cause' there are so many weekend warriors that barely ride.

Oh yeah....your Valentine works all stuffed up in there???? How do you keep it there? Velcro? I like it cause' it's hidden and away from water.

Keep the bike Geek you're an inspiration

Damn! You beat me-I hit 49,000 on friday night http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/flipa.gif

I will hit fiddy very soon though, but I was hoping to hit 60k this year but too many trackdays and workdays kept me away from my goal..oh well.

It is true that many people don't think that bikes will last this long, but I have had very few problems and really just basic maintenance other than putting in a new cam chain-but that was more of a piece of mind thing.

Way to go Geek! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif

Cool, hope arkansas was not too wet for you this past weekend.

The "old" rizla body is still looking quite good. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Thnx for the kind words guys....

The Mutt look was caused by me putting the stock tail on for the trip ( i needed the trunk space ). The stock tank because the QB one is leaking - I need to find a painter :-(

The LED strip is a Revlight by the guys that make the Digi.

Geek, you know I love you and think that you are the man, but I recently met this guy at my local bike shop, Washington Cycle Works, who has a 2000 GSXR 750 with 92,000 miles and was leaving for Colorado. I think you two should meet up and ride somewhere.

Out of curiosity, you obviously put some miles on your bike. What is the longest distance/trip you have ridden her and what do you find is the most comfortable riding position on those long trips? Also, how tall are you? I’m 6’ even and haven’t really found the ideal long-haul, comfortable riding position (not that I’m looking to Goldwing-it or anything)…

I've done a 1700 mile day on it (getting my iron butt BBG award)
I've done several (a dozen?) 1000+ mile days on it.
I've done a couple of multi day, 4000+ mile trips on it.

I'm 6' tall as well. Lean forward on your tank bag and bend your elbows. Change positions frequently (I don't sit still for more than 15 minutes). Throttlemeister helps.
