I just wanted to thank Jeff and the board for turning me onto the TRE mod. Just got mine from Jeff this week and finally had time today to give it a little shake down.... What I noticed was that I had been running the bike at 5000-7000 rpm to keep the throttle response smooth in the twisties... today I got the exact same "feeling" at 8-10,000 rpm. What a nice change. Had to adjust for an even high entry speed/ better acceleration out of the curve... and I was already riding the 1K3 better than I ever rode the 750.... great mod!

I guess I'll show my naivety and ask what the TRE is ? I've seen it mentioned before and never have figured it out ?

Could someone be nice enough and gentle enough to let me in on it?

I've owned my 03 - 1000 for a little over a month and have 2400 miles on it- I love this bike - havent' riddent my RC 51 once getting it-

More or less......Suzuki has retarded the ignition maps in 1st, 2nd, and maybe 3rd gear(Can't recall for sure). Anyway, the TRE -timing retard eliminator, will fool the ECU into thinking that the bike is always in (again, can't recall for sure) 5th or 6th gear......giving you added performance (i'll leave it at that)
There are switchable ones available, non-switching, you can even build your own if you search around enough. I think BUgman has info on his website or you can buy one from the Gixxer.com store made by Jeff W. I have this one in the switchable version and like it because it comes with factory connectors on it.
