I put my bike in the Cycle Trader - spent $70 farking dollars.

I included the pipe, sliders, tank guard, headlights, warranty, all service paid, a Joe Rocket, an Icon helmet/gloves, Alpinestar boots, and a fender elim for $8000 OR MAKE OFFER.

I have now been offered $3200 - $4000 about 15 times. What the f*ck is wrong with these bastards!?! I mean, make an offer, but dont freaking insult me! Damn assholes might as well go out and steal one.

Besides that, none of them REALLY have a dime. They are all punk ass squids who just want a bike. Some kid tried to tell me he rides a 600 Yamaha. I said "what kinda 600?" He said "a 600 Yamaha". I said R6? Yeah, I guess thats what it is. Its not fast enough. Dude...I"m not selling you my bike. You will DIE.

You won't get $8000 for a used 03' when you can get a new one with 0 miles for $7500. Even if you do have some extras to go with it...

Have you looked at what your bike is worth? If you really think about it its a 600 who would give you even 6k when you can get a 750 for that price(not new of course)
When yours left the showroom floor you already should know that it was not gonna get no where near what you paid. I wouldn't be suprise if you get 5k for it

Icon helmet = As most some think as long as it covers your skull

Alpinestar Boots = I don't own any but how many chances it will fit buyer so those maybe keepers for you.

Fender Eliminator = Why did you even add that in that is not gonna make a diffrence( it do make it sound good to a rider that doesn't know shit though)

I think that you should shoot for 4k the most being that it is used maybe not much but its used. Good luck on the same BTW i am not bashing you in anyway but stating facts since I am in Texas also winter is coming now and these new bikes are starting to roll out those on 600's are going to be trading or selling those to get bigger ones that means your market has become alot rougher. A friend of mine just sold his 2002 with 3300 miles, for $5500. He was scrapping to get that. Man i understand what your going through but your gonna have to face the reality that it's depreciated way beyond $8000. You'll probably be lucky to get 6-65. Sorry man but thats the way jap bikes are.

Thanks for the responses. I've more or less given up on selling the bike. I'm going to lose too much and it would be pointless. Besides, I'm beginning to enjoy it alot more too.

The headlights things was kinda a joke...I know that to us the add ons dont mean much to us, who did it ourselves, but to some people out there it looks good and they'd rather have a "modded" bike. It brings attention to the bike. Some people think its good that someone ELSE spent the $150 to cut off the mudflap.

Now I'm hungry for more power and am comfortable with my bike, skills, and power. I was going to sell the bike and step up...to an R1.

Don't get mad just I think that rather than talk about you I rather state the facts I hope it didnt offend you can't speak for the rest. well since your looking for more power what area of power are you looking for? the streets the track the strip? Each one you go about getting diffrent if you want an al around power try finishing up with your search like pc or yosh ems and pipe then maybe sprocket change. Also get more seat time that is very important as well 600 is great for street but when you ride with others it seems to end up being very short(only in the low end).

how long does that $70 last cause i was thinking of selling my bike there but its like $50 for 1 month i think it said im like wtf ... or is that $50 until i sell it thanks

gl with selling your bike its late in season now and hard to sell em even in texas where our winter is like feb-march only

Well, I'm pretty much guessing this was referring to me. I was just being honest. My brother bought an 03 954 this summer and he's moving to NY and can't take it. He needs to get $9300 but no one has even called. JUST BEING REALISTIC. The likelyhood of selling a new bike and getting what you need is UNLIKELY, regardless of bike.

FOR THE RECORD: Never said I was bad ass because I ride a 1K(which I sold) and never said I knew how to ride from day one. I started on a 600 too.

And you brought the squid comment on yourself. You stated you were being lowballed by stupid "squids" yet one of the signs of a squid is someone new to riding who thinks they can now ride anything(R1, 1K, Busa) and it says right in your sig(or did) that you were new(er) to riding and wanted to get some seat time before doing more mods(which makes sense).
