Just wandering if the aftermarket parts of 06/07 can be fitted on the new 08? parts like fork, rear suspension, air filter, full system exhaust and more.

anyone guru care to share?

Thanks in advance

idk bout anything else but i belive that the full exhaust wont im not sure but i think the 08s come with a o2 sensor now for emissions so i dont think it would work....just another bullshit piece to thru the f1 light on IMO.....

You can put an O2 sensor eliminator in it Dynojet makes it, No problem. The headers probably will fit on the '08. I am hoping they will so i don't have to buy a full system only buy one 06/07 header on eBay and throw that thing on it. The suspension change doesn't make any sense since the '08 has better suspension. The full system probably will fit. The airbox I believe different, I don't know about the air filter element. I'll tell you in few weeks hopefully....

basing soley on years past, the forks more than likely would interchange, but might not, rear suspension will fit, air filter more than likely not, full system more than likely will.

im hoping they are interchangeable for the most part. i have a 07 race bike that i used to ride alot on the street before tracking it out and now i want to ride on the street again. man never thought i would say that. so im thinking about getting a 08 and transplanting everything from the 07 to the 08 and vise versa so i can just use my high mileage bike for the street and the 08 for the race season =P

i am preaty sure you can use the 750 k8 back suspencion (witch is better than the 600 k8 and the k6/k7 ) also becouse i look a bit more on the subject couse i like the k8 and the changes they made but not the fairings.....you cant put anything from k6/k7 tail.....but it seems that all the front fairing and side can be changed, so you can put the 1 eye light insted of the ugly 2 eyes :P also seems like with a small changes you cna put utlist the last years exhaust :P
thats few things i could find :P

Hey guys, I'm new to the site, but am thinking about an 08 750 for racing. I'm pretty much wondering the same thing. Will I be able to use Ohlins 25mm cartridge kits and Ohlins rear shock for an 06/07 on an 08 model? The exhaust is not as big of a deal as the suspension, but it would be handy if you could use a full system from the earlier models on an 08, same goes for rearsets, clip-ons etc. It's been kind of difficult to get this info out of anybody, but it would sure help. I may just go with an 06/07 anyway, if I can find a good one that's already been tracked out.

I talked to Kyle from M4 and according to him you can use the headers and full systems from the K6/7 bikes on the K8.

You wont get that info, until the bike is released.

Using years past, more than likely the shock, and exhaust will fit, with little to no modification. Fork internals, MIGHT, rearsets MIGHT as it is supposed to be the same frame, or nearly the same. Clip ons more than likely, as they have been the same since 04

anyone seen the bikes in person, i was looking at what looked to be like a 05-07 750 and the tail looked very skinny and ugly looking , and yes i think it was stock.

05-07 :blink

04-05 is a completely different generation from the 06-07, which again is completely different from the 08. The tail has gotten progressivly thinner with each generation though. Did the tail come to a point at the end, or was it rounded at the tip

the frame is the same, I think the swing arm is also, so things like rear suspension, exhaust should fit.

Ok, what is the real question here? 05-07 750? you mean 06-07 750? Because the 05 is totally different look.

along the same lines, lets say somebody were to need a new clutch lever, shifter, shifter rod, and the left side generator cover for their 08' :banghead would you guys think that the 06/07 would be a match?

So, you already crashed your '08 600... Great. I didn't even get it and you already crashed it. I can not believe it....

Yeah it was a 30 degree day on a straightaway outside my work parking lot. There was some sand/salt left over. I had about 50 miles on it. So stupid. I keep telling myself "It's just a bike". I am having the bike shop replace the generator cover for me, since I don't want to mess that up (and they already have the bike).

Sorry to hear that.... :(
Let me know if the engine cover fits from the 06/07. You should buy the Woodcraft cover if you already need to replace...

Just heard back from woodcraft, http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=17806 fits the K8. Wahoo!! It seems pretty easy to change myself, I think i'll have the bike shop tow my bike back to my house so they don't charge me an arm and a leg.

Great!
You think they won't charge for towing if you don't let them fix it?

They will probably, but I have a buddy who is management there so I **might** be able to work out a deal. I know this sounds bad but worse case scenario I could fill it back up with oil and ride the 3 miles back to my house. It drips VERY slowly out.

I just put it on Saturday. Who knew how much of a pain in the ass it is to position the gasket correctly? This cover is awesome looking, and the black aluminum skid plate looks pretty sick too. I have the old cover hanging up at work to remind myself to be extra careful when it's cold. Now I just need my new shifter and I am good to go.
