I think you would be suprised! The unit shown with a baffle is less than 99dB at 6k. There are two versions, there is also a 330mm version. I know sound clips don't do justice, but I will have some as soon as the weather clears up here.

They come in satin black powder (6061) or raw carbon fiber.

BTW, very cool ride in the k1 cb750. I am looking to create a cafe out of a first generation cb750. (or I should say up to 76 before the tank change, if I am not mistaken)

Since the low mount was nixed, can you make the muffler smaller or shorten the mid pipe so that the hanger is at the very end of the muffler, like the Termignoni on Rossi's bike?

Good eye, actuallly the final version is shorter by about 2.0" on the slip tube. So the clamp will be moved back more towards the rear and the logo will be on the front end on the exhaust. Our systems also have an adjustable lever off of the exhaust clamp so you could move it back even further.

Actually, it uses the stock footpeg and comes with a kit to turn it into a hanger. Its a very simple cool mod and works great. The manual will be posted on the web over the weekend. It will have pictures, etc. It is the same kit that is in the pictures.

There will also be a custom hanger (anodized black) that we will have as an accessory for those who dont have rear pegs.

They are around $30-34 for the insert/baffle. The kit comes with a drill bit needed for the small hole on the underneath of the outlet. Pretty basic.

Yep, bike is only a few months old now. So stock pipes were on there before. I've taken a couple idle videos (stock vs LOR) and one idle/revvin video with the LOR. Will hopefully get some more videos of the bike driving off very soon!!

E-mail them.

That's how I started off, and Allison e-mailed me back pretty quickly!

I didn't use a phone until I was actually going to place the order. Also, they are local to LOR, so they get pipes in everyday. If you order a pipe, they usually get it the next day to ship out, and you can always do faster UPS shipping!

Good luck, and good choice! Don't get discouraged, they'll take care of you! Mention your phone issues when you DO talk to someone!

Tom - I think I spoke with you on the phone earlier today. Was thinking about the 10 inch v/s the 13. I checked sbkshop.com and I had a couple of questions:

i) Do you not make the Satin finish TI (either 10 or 13 inch) for the 2003 750 any more? I couldn't find it on the site

ii) Where can I order the baffle from? It wasn't on the sbkshop site either.

Yes, we still do have the Ti Satin finish in both the two.six.zero and the three.three.zero models, they are in limited supply now. They still show up on the drop down at sbkshop.com.

The baffle will be up on the website (sbkshop.com) by the weekend. We have them in stock but the new seal ring just arrived. I will keep you posted on this thread or a new one.

Well I ordered my 260 in Carbon Fiber last week and got it on Friday. I installed it that night and took the bike out for a ride all day on Saturday. Sure enough after about 1 hour of riding a cop stops me and the first thing he tells me after I take my helmet off is "Those things were built for speed huh? You know I heard you before I ever saw you coming!!!! “I thought that was a nice compliment hehe…
Now to the Exhaust. It is by far the best Exhaust I have seen on a K7 600 like mine. And the sound, I love it. I am by far very satisfied with it and considering the price I think that it was worth every penny.
I have no words to describe the quality and the craftsmanship of the exhaust, and if you take the price into account the only word that comes to mind is AWESOME.
I would recommend it to anyone who hasn’t bought one yet. You will not be disappointed.

For those of you who want the best of both worlds you have to hear the dBKiller.

We rode and tested a 06 GSXR1000 over the weekend with a two.six.zero and the insert installed and it is amazing how much of a difference it made. It basically sounds like the quieter after market systems, but you get the cool GP look.... And it still flows well because it is not restricted as most lower volume inserts.

Tom,

What happened to your 430mm exhaust? I just noticed it on sbkshop but it's not listed amongst your products. Also noticed that the 330 used to be called the shorty :biggrin

The 430mm basically is just not popular. I believe only a handful have been sold. Many dealers refer to the shorter exhausts that way, we stick with our model names now.

Oh and it is raining here, supposed to rain tomorrow also. Saturday will dry it up and Sunday will be nice. Love it.

I got a black 10" for an 06, what did you get?

Also ground would have been three days, but i had arranged to have it sent Priority so I'd have it Sat and Allison messed up. She forgot to send it out Priority so she hooked me up with 2day air :burnout

BTW, for you guys :drooling over her, she told me when I called she was "laying in bed thinking about that guy that emailed me" but she forgot to Priority it.

So, I have one up on all of you :cheers. Back up:chucks

Just fitted my LOR. One word - awesome. This thing is not only smaller and lighter than my D&D but the sound is so much better. With the dBKiller its much quieter but deeper...more of a throaty roar than the nasal sound of the D&D. Will post up pics and a vid.

Checked the sound level with my sound level meter. Its significantly quieter than the D&D. I measured the D&D at about 118-120 db (could have been higher - my meter only measures up to 120). The LOR topped out at about 107-108.

Now for a test ride!

FlashLCD33

Got mine today and had it installed in about 15 mins. Man it sounds good. It searches for idle for a little bit while warming up, but goes away when warm.

Man it is loud and drones some while riding, I love it. If I get tired of it I'll just pick up the insert too. I let a buddy ride it so I could hear it, and I could hear him from several blocks away. It sounds great.

Oh and it definitely picked up some power in the low/mid range, my bike pulls the wheel up a lot faster now.

My bike doesn't seem to be running right, so I'm going to get some gas tomorrow and see if that does it. Whenever I'm low on gas it kinda acts up. It felt like I had a dead spot, but I don't think it's pipe related because I slightly felt it before doing the pipe.

Next on the list is a PC3, as soon as LOR gets a map.

PS it looks way better in person than in pics.

:EDIT: I forgot to add, my only complaint is that I was missing the hanger bolt/nut when I got it. I went and picked one up, no big deal.

Ok I figure its been a couple of days since I slapped this baby on so I have a decent handle on things. So here's my review of the LOR 330mm CF exhaust.

Dealing with LOR / sbkshop: Most reviews don't cover this but I figured why not? After all isn't dealing with people part of the process? My enjoyment of products is usually colored by the people I bought it from. In this respect, I have to say dealing with both LOR and sbkshop was an unalloyed pleasure. Tom at LOR was both responsive when I called LOR and was happy to chat with me on the phone. He gave me god advice and was quite frank about the exhaust. I didn't feel like he was constantly trying to sell, which was very reassuring. Also he gave me the heads up about the dBKiller before it was on the site! So I knew I should wait to order. Next, sbkshop. Seems like there are some good peeps there too. Spoke with Allison on more than one occasion (aaahhh....Allison...sigh....) Same story - incredibly helpful, frank and very responsive. Great people to buy stuff from!

Delivery Once ordered the package came quickly. I placed my order on a Friday afternoon, it shipped the following Tuesday and arrived on Thursday. UPS Ground but you can work with Allison to have it expedited. Did I mention that they don't charge you for shipping?

Packaging Packaging was decent. See pics.

I've seen better packaging but I can't complain - there was no damage to the products. If you can't see the dBKiller in the pics its because it came pre-installed in the exhaust can, which was nice since I don't own a drill.

Installation Installation was easy enough. It took longer than the 15 minutes that most people reported but that was mainly because the D&D that the bike came with was a bitch to get off. The bolts where the flange meets the midpipe were stuck so I had to put some WD40 on there and wait 10-15 minutes. I can't complain since I took the opportunity to clean the bike up a bit. Hey it was on stands anyways. One thing you want to keep in mind though - the clamp that the exhaust comes with has a "lever" which attaches to a spacer which attaches to the passenger footpeg. You have to adjust the position of the clamp on the can carefully before tightening all the bolts since otherwise the lever will push the spacer away from the passenger foot peg (see pics of my installed can below). The instructions that LOR gives you mentions this...but hey who reads instructions right? Anyways, I figured this out after I tightened everything and I didn't have time to undo it all, so I've left it as it is for now. Will redo later in the week.

http://img36.picoodle.com/img/img36/4/4/14/f_IMG1257m_74e6169.jpg (http://www.picoodle.com/view.php?img=/4/4/14/f_IMG1257m_74e6169.jpg&srv=img36)

http://img01.picoodle.com/img/img01/4/4/14/f_IMG1261m_a629276.jpg (http://www.picoodle.com/view.php?img=/4/4/14/f_IMG1261m_a629276.jpg&srv=img01)

And the final verdict.... So hey now that this is all done... the part that everyone is waiting for....sound and performance! First, sound wise, this exhaust is awesome. With the dBKiller in its a more muted but throatier growl than the D&D I had before. Worlds of difference. I measured the sound differential with a digital sound level meter. The D&D had a peak volume of 120db (could have been higher since my meter only goes up to 120) while the LOR had a peak measure of 107. This was measured about 12-14 inches from the exhaust, with the meter level with the exhaust. So it's not industry standard, but I think it illustrates the point that there is a difference in the sound.

Performance wise, I've noticed a slight improvement in the bottom end. More significantly the curve is flatter than with the D&D. At first I thought I had lost some performance, but that was because I wasn't feeling the lunges that I felt when shifting up. At the top end, the bike rushes at about the same degree. I also noticed that the bike idle-seeks a little bit less than with the D&D and sounds a lot more regular when it settles to 1100.

Looks wise, this exhaust rocks. Since the 2003 doesn't have an exposed mid pipe like the newer models do, the LOR doesn't look out of place, and definitely flows with the bike. Also, the 330 is significantly shorter than most cans out there. See the comparison with the D&D, which is a pretty normal can. It's also a lot lighter. Finally, since I bought the CF after a long hard ride the can is cool enough to touch. So those of you with girlfriends can save a bunch of cash on flowers when she doesn't burn herself getting off the bike....

Long and short of it, this is an awesome product and well worth the money at roughly $300 for the can, the satin black clamp and the dBKiller. I would not hesitate to recommend this can to anyone, and the fact that it is hand made astounds me. Anyone who says the days of American manufacturing are over should take a trip down to IL to chat with Tom at LOR.

Will post up a vid soon.

Good review! I just received my 330mm Carbon can yesterday from LOR/SBKshop. Super fast shipping, but I live about 2.5 hours from Chicago. Ordered late Friday, arrived Monday. Cool!

The craftsmanship of the product is outstanding. Very high quality components. Installation was very easy, and the instructions were helpful. I'm undecided about the number of parts required to attach the can to the footpeg/bracket, but it's very sturdy when all said and done. Seems like it could have been done with fewer parts, though.

The sound...well, it's mean, ballsy, and loud. I didn't get the dbKiller, but I might. This exhaust replaced my full-size stainless Yosh RS-3. At the same time, I installed Ti headers from an '03 GSXR 1000, which could also have upped the sound level a bit.

We'll see how it goes. I certainly can't complain about the sound. It's a beautiful tone. It's also just quite loud. The product itself is wonderful, and I would do business with this company again, for sure.

I think you should adjust you clamp back farther so the bracket is angled towards the back of the bike. Looks funny pointing forward.

Great review and if your video is half as good as this, it'll be awesome.

I tried angling the bracket towards the back but it obscured the LOR decal. I noticed that the decal is in a different place for some of the other cans they've sent out. LOR include a spare decal so I might take the existing one off and put on the spare one so I can angle the bracket forward.

Alright, rode the beast home from work. Made this old man's (29) ears almost bleed! Damn that's loud. So, first thing, I ordered the baffle. I hope it works. I like everything else about the pipe. I can't imagine the shorter pipe...which would probably be just a hair quieter than running no pipe at all.

Anyone else getting a raspy tone sometimes? I may just have a leak somewhere...but if I just rev the bike at a standstill, I can hear a raspy rattle between about 4K and 7K. Just looking at the pipe, it doesn't seem like anything could be rattling...so I'm thinking I have a leak somewhere. It really detracts from the otherwise smooth sound.

Could be the SET spring on the gsxr 1K midpipe too, I guess. I really should get that whole thing removed and re-weld the holes it'll leave behind.

Quattro - why didn’t you get the slip-on? The 2003-2004 GSXR1000 ti header and the slip-on for the 2001-2006 GSXR 1000 works and fits great. You also remove the set valve with the new slip-on adapter. We originally had the three.three.zero installed and the sound was very nice, not too loud at all. Do you wear plugs? The deep sound can resonate badly in the helmet.

** note: Same bike now has the two.six.zero and the dB.Killer installed and it is quieter than most aftermarket setups and the performance is better than stock. We are going to do some more dyno's with the baffle in as well. Lower sound and good looks are great for the street as well.

Put this pipe on my 07 750, sound is amazing!!! I had a Yosh Carbon Fiber Trc, and a Akro Titanium, and the LOR is the best sounding of the bunch. Also the transaction with SBKSHOP was great!!!!! took them 1 week to get the pipe to my door, and I live in Canada! Fit and finish is top notch, and I was able to use the carbon fiber hanger from my Akro to mount it, fit perfect.

I don't know why I didn't get the slip-on version. I just looked back in the SBKshop and now I think I know why. The 2003-2004 pipe is a bolt-on. The 05-06 is a slip-on. However, you don't know that the 05-06 slip-on version also fits the 01-04 (GSXR 1000) until you click on the product and read the description. I just saw the 03-04 bolt on and thought that was it.

So, yeah, getting rid of the mid-pipe would be cool. Sent you a PM, Tom. Thanks.

Well, the "saga" continues! I ordered the db.Killer (and after the super fast shipping of the pipe, I was a little disappointed to have to wait 8 days for the db.Killer), and installed it per the instructions. I gotta say, the instructions were thorough, and the photos were very helpful. The included drill bit was a nice plus. I had it installed in about 10 minutes.

First impression with the db.Killer...it really cuts the sound pretty dramatically. But it isn't just quieter, it's also a little "airy" sounding, as if a small part of the exhaust flow is coming around the baffle, while most of it is getting blocked and re-routed in the canister. It changes the sound a lot, and I wasn't a big fan.

However, it can be removed in 10 seconds, which is great. When I want the bike quiet (say, droning down the interstate while on a trip), I just pop it in. When I want the mean, raw and loud sound, I just go without it. That is pretty handy.

Quattro,

The last set of killers were a little slow, sorry about that. The airy sound is the flow going through the 1.5" tubing. The back end quick install inserts many of the after market companies utilize have this attribute. It is mainly at idle as soon as the gas flow picks up it dissipates. The length of the killer helps in sound cancellation which is what we were after.

Not sure on the max, we just did the standard 6k again with 3 different bikes and the average was about 106-7 dbA at 19.5", 45 deg. from the outlet.

Do you want the max for a specific track? or just curious?

Well, I was planning on going to Laguna Seca but I read that they only allow a 92db limit. 92db limit is ridiculous. My bike stock is louder than 92db's. I have no idea what they are thinking over there at Laguna Seca. Another guy that went got flagged on a stock R1. They must want silencers on stock pipes lol! I'm pretty sure that my 08 1k goes above 110 db on hard acceleration. That's why I had the question.

Excellent, thank you for the good word. We have been busy gearing up for the new season and we are moving our main warehouse. We are finally releasing our dual systems at the end of the year and finishing up a new outlet design.

L1R,
I just wanted to confirm that the K7 1000 dual setup will be available in both lengths. I'm assuming the 330 will be a tad quieter by nature, and that a dual setup will be quieter than a single can, so I'm hoping that between those two factors I won't have to run the db killers. I also want to move the outlet as far behind my head as possible to reduce the possibility of droning sounds at cruise.

Oh, and will they work with an Arrow mid-pipe? The Arrow is designed to work in the OEM location and fits right up to my OEM cans, so I assume it will not be a problem.

Yes, I'm a picky little girl.

Best to you guys, and congratulations on the success of your product and customer service with the guys on gixxer.com.

Oh my GODS! I love my exhaust! Loud, turns heads, and makes me smell like I've been on my bike all day! What more can I ask for?

LOR has FANTASTIC service, stayed on the phone with me for 45 mins answering questions BEFORE I was even their customer. SOLD!

Easy to put on, even for this blonde!

I didn't think I could love my bike any more, until LOR sent my pipe in the mail. Now, straddling Gixxer all I think about!

Thank you for keeping the spice in our marriage!

Yes, both will be available. The 260 is actually very quite with the cats/muffler still installed.

Yes the other aftermarket cat/muffler removing midpipes should work fine. You are right with the dual sound vs single.

Email us or give us a call if you need quicker response times :)

Thank You

I had a slow speed crash last year and bent my mid pipe a little bit and got a little rash on the pipe. Would it be possible for me to purchase just a mid pipe now and get another can later? I can live with the small amount of rash on the pipe or spin it around. I would like to replace the midpipe tho. Thanks

Yes, no problem. You can contact Allison@sbkshop.com she can handle the midpipe replacement. We can provide you with any of the parts to all of our systems.

Thanks

I don't really know how it compares to the two exhausts you mentioned. I can tell you this. It is loud, but not obnoxious loud. It has a deep note on idle and really screams at WOT. This is on a 1k. I don't really know about on a 600. There are some sound clips on youtube and on LOR's website.

The full system is complete for the 06-08 600/750. We are just waiting to get it on the website and packaged up.

We do have a Ti powder coat finish available (6061-t6 just like the black satin).

The high grade titanium sleeves should be available sometime this fall.

2.Will I have to disconect the o2 sensor?

Or I dont have to worry about it.

If your running only a pipe and no other mods then you wont have to remap it. Most companies will advise you to get a PCIII but honestly you dont have to. I run and exhaust and K&N and I dont have a PCIII and it runs fine. No nasty popping when let off at high rpm or no 2 foot flames. So you should be all good. And as for the o2 I would suggest leaving it in. O2 takes air/fuel ratio readings to add or decrease fuel going in the motor. But it will NOT go as far as to remap your fuel system. Its just there for minor tweaks to better your fuel economy. Hope this helps dude.

ahh ok, I was taking to someone and they told me that there was a sensor inside the Can of the exhaust to control the minor tweaks of fuel economy .

So if it's just the bolt on I just stick it on and I'll be alright ?

So I finally installed my exhaust and took a nice ride up Hwy 33 today. I'm really stoked on the exhaust in every way. It being unique is a big plus. It's a little loud for my liking, even with ear plugs. I will get used to it

My buddy and I were doing 3rd gear pulls up there from about 7 grand. It was awesome because I would get a few bike lengths on him. Thats with the baffle in. He has same bike but with M4 full system and custom map.

I spent a fraction of what he did and I seem to have ended up with a faster bike. All his power is low and high. His mid range feels like turbo lag. Its sad...

I would love to get a bazazz unit with the self mapper. Anyone have this set up? I'm trying to get other people onto this exhaust as well. Good shit, love it.

I haven't ridden it without the baffle yet. Only have done one canyon run. All I get is stares from everyone, especially cops, so I'm gonna keep it in until I hit the twistys again. It's cool, only takes like 30 sec. to remove, very easy. I don't think I would be able to tell the difference. We'll see, I'll give a follow up review soon if it doesn't rain.

Ya definitely let us know how it performs on the twistys. But mad props on your bike dude. It just looks strait up sick. I love that exhaust. I was considering the 260 as one of my future exhaust choices.

So I rode mulholand/decker/potrero rd.'s today without the baffle. It could all be perception, but it seems to have a little more low end... Everywhere else, it felt the same, just fucking loud. Without ear plugs it is unbearable just cruising around, I think. With plugs its cool, especially in the canyons.

The most noticeable thing I noticed from stock was how much smoother it is on the off to on throttle position. It makes riding the real tight stuff a pleasure. Again, don't know if it was me or the pipe, but I felt really smooth up there today. I think the pipe really helps in this sense. I can't wait to make a custom fuel map for this thing. :yumyum

Overall I stoked on this exhaust, it is the longer one by the way. Everyone else that has seen it compliments on its exhaust note and aesthetics. For me, I'm gonna run with the baffle in, can't tell the difference. I seek nice linear, usable power, not hp numbers. These bikes are already crazy overkill for canyons, and more than enough at the track. That new design coming out should be real nice looking, but I am real happy with the "works" look of this exhaust.

L1R
03-04-2009, 12:29 PM
Thats a tough one. Most of the Ti powder exhausts are a custom make, except for the bolt-on versions. We only have about 30 shells left so its not an offering where we get many pictures. I will look around for some pics.

Just got mine last night, spent all of 15 minutes to swap out the old and put on the new. I think these may be the first pictures of LOR v2 exhausts. Essentially the same sound as the v1 (can't comment on performance compared to the v1 since I haven't ridden w/ the v1 yet), but with a revised tip (reminiscent to the Akrapovic exhausts).

As with any post, pics make it happen (pardon the cellphone pics, but it's the best I could manage at the time) ;)

P.S. - This one is the 330mm (13 inch) and I've placed it next to the stock exhaust for comparison.

I had my baffle break in my exhaust recently. Anyone with a baffle keep an eye on it and your FI light.

My friend noticed the inner part of my baffle gone when we stopped. My light came on shortly after that. I took apart my exhaust and found the piece stuck up against the SET valve. Luckily nothing was damaged and the light went away.

When I contacted LOR, they didn't even ask questions and sent out an updated baffle that is one piece. Crap like this happens every now and then. The company did resolve the issue in a timely manner and I thank them for that.

Just put the new one in. Other than this minor hiccup, my exhaust has been flawless.

Other than this minor hiccup, my exhaust has been flawless.

speaking of FI light...i just had mine come on during a saturday ride. had the 10" slip on for a couple of months now and the light just decided to come on...anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

btw i don't have a power commander on my bike. all stock. just the LOR slip on.

thanks!

Would cutting the 4-bolt flange enable me to use the 06 slip-on? I really hate the look of the exhaust with a flange so that's why i'm asking.

Guy's is this a possibility or not???

Thanks

i love this exhaust and i'm happy i waited to find one. got it under $100 used and it sounds way better than the one i had on. can't wait to get a power commander and get it tuned to get some decent performance out of it. i'm just poor and can't afford anything. but i'll be looking for lor for the next exhaust i need to buy.

Just got in from a nice ride around town. I wanted to take the time to thank Tim and everyone at LOR for making such great exhaust! I got my CF canister at the start of the season. The LOR canister has such a great tone. especialy when downshifting in the high rpm range. their PC3 map is very nice and paired up with the accell pump feacur, it's a great combo! I have no pops on decel or anything from the exhaust I don't want. Really all the vids on youtube do NO justice! i have a 03 600. For my exhaust I run a micron header and mid-pipe with the LOR GP 260 GP canister. thanks again guys!!! :cheers

Are you ready to discount the 02 600 exhaust yet? It's my understanding they've been discontinued, and would like to help you clean up your inventory some. Give me a deal, and it's gone.

I just got my factory LOR today! Boy it's got a nice rumble. I should have some pics and a vid this weekend. It's too crappy today to take it out to see how it sounds wide open. As expected it's much louder than my Yoshi though.

Ok...here's my final .02 on this pipe. I finally got a good ride in today and as has been previously mentioned the sound is very good. It is such a difference from the Yoshi. Not only is it much louder and deeper, but she's got a little more pep. I still like the look of the Yoshi, but the LOR outperforms it IMO.

i got used LOR off ebay, great condition. I have 2007 GSXR 1000; it fit well, pretty strait forward to connect. Looks good on bike. I prefer no silencer. It has a nice sound to it, I like the loudness of it, baffle does good job of quietening it up. I got lots of compliments on it, Sounded awesome on dyno. Power band appears nice, no lean spots, prety much right on. I am happy with the pipe. Quality appears good also. for record, I made 152 hp, 70ftlbs torque. I am very happy with pipe!

I'm pretty sure if you go with the single-sided K7 exhaust, it bolts right up to the collector on the end of the header, eliminating the catalytic converter box. If you go with the duals, they're designed to bolt up to the catalytic converter box exits. I asked LOR if they would work with an Arrow "Y" mid-pipe that does away with the catalytic converter and the answer is 'yes' - anything in the area of "Y" pipes that are compatible with the stock cans will work with the LOR duals.

Here's the pic of the single:
