A couple weeks ago I got a speeding ticket from a motorcycle cop.
written out on the ticket as "85+" in a "50".
When i received the stuff in the mail from the court it doesnt have the option to pay, just "Mandatory Court Appearance". I have NO ticket or accidents on my record right now. I have NOT been to traffic school in like 3+yrs.

The last 2x I went to traffic court the judge was trying to push everyone to take traffic school. If you had JUST taken traffic school he still let you go again, just a 12 hr version instead. I saw this both times I went.

What I am wondering is, is this ticket something that I should goto court over and plead guilty and try to get traffic school? Is this wreckless driving? The cop didnt say anything about that, he just ticketed me and let me go on my way.

Any thoughts at all are appreciated.

A mandatory court appearance is a criminal ticket in wa. I imagine its the same there, sounds like more than a speeding ticket.

Bad news for ya. You can go to traffic school if your ticket was for exceeding the speed limit by 26mph or less.
All of the tickets say you must appear in court by such and such date. You need to call the traffic division that is on the bottom of the ticket, and get the info on it.

I would fight the ticket. Your not allowed to go to traffic school anyway, so you might as well try to fight it.

Then if you loose, you can ask the judge if he or she will let you have traffic school. Explain that you have not had a ticket, and yada, yada, yada!

Also, what was the VC section that he wrote you for? I can look it up!

Well I figure that since the judge down here was giving everyone and their mother traffic school no matter what (it seemed) that I should be able to get it. If I just go in there and plead either no-contest of guilty, and explain to him that i havent had traffic school in 3-4yrs and no tickets/accidents.

Fight !! Fight !!! Fight !! I just got done fighting two tickets in Riverside, extended for the max time plus 30 days, the first one was for 80 in 65 cop didn't show up and I was late to court the judge dismissed it even though I was late since the cop didn't show. The second one the cop showed but since it was called in to him by a helecoptor pilot the charges were dismissed cause the pilot didn't show up. It was kinda funny cause the judge asked me about traffic court and I was a bit nervous and I asked if I could ask the officer a question before I gave my answer to the judge, he let me, so I asked if he was in the helecopter and he said "no" it was called into him and he was directed to my location. The judge asked him if he had any evidence to the alligation and he said "no" I imediatly said "I wish to proceed, your honor" he laughed along with all the cops that showed up and said "I bet you would, case dismissed" LOL so your in a position that you can't go to school so you might as well fight it and if the cop shows up as for mercy from the court and traffic school.
