03-1000 installing a full yush sys and a power commander, do i really need to install a K&N air filter??? will it make the diffrance ???

K&N will drop hp, I can assure you this is 100% true...... but you can clean and reuse it for quite some time.

Heard people complain about power loss from the K&N time and time again. Stay stock they rock. The BMC race is supposed to give a pony or two but then you run the risk of gettin' crap in your motor you definately don't wan there.

I still have the stock filter. Its getting little on the dirty side but I want to stay with a stock one. My bike (02 750) is friggin sreaming right now. However I would like to go with the BMC later.

PS: Alot of us were riding the other weekend and I pulled past another 02 750. We later talked and he said that he thought I was a 1000 until he got next to me later and seen I was only a 750 http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif We have the same mods except I have the 1K header and TRE. He had the stock header but had a aftermarket pipe.

i dunno about the losing power with the k&n filter. i have one and just dyno my bike and came out with 157hp.
