I have removed the motor and extracted the black wire with brown stripe from the ECU.

I have not connected the red wire going to the motor to anything else, but there is no FI light

I have also reved the bike in Neutral to 7500 rpm and still no FI light.

I think the 03 model just needs the black w/ brown stirpe wire removed as the 01 model did

Or am i wrong and goning to have problems once I try and ride the bike?

Leave it in the old exhaust.

and put all the parts to stock exhaust in a box and store till time to sell the bike.

LOL

Thanks guys I will look for the brown wire with whit stripe and see what happens.

I don't have a FI light yet but still will remove the wire

Thanks

well disconnected the only somewhat brown wire with white stripe from the ECU and the bike would not even idle right. Is there another brown wire with white stripe or are you pulling my chain?

FI light doesn't come on all the time. What about the jumper to the red an gray wire explained on Jeffw's site?????

I'm fairly sure there's two brown wires going into the ECU, try the other one.

Is it the brown wire with no stripe, brown with blue stripe, or brown with yellow stripe. I guess I will start trying all the wires

I also found a 2nd black wire with brown stripe. Hope I got the right one of those.

As liong as your are just trying them by pulling them one at a time from the wiring harness and then starting the bike to test, you should be ok. Be carefull about jumping wires as I have heard that you can toast your ECU.

The wire is quite simple to find. it is a corner of the plug:
