Hows it going with the trans? I'm doing the same for a friend of mine who crashed his 1100 and the bike hit hard on the shifter shafter. I just got the cases apart.

The bike is a '97 and it has 1100 miles on it. He crashed it a few years ago after getting it and the thing has been sitting ever since. I replaced all the bodywork and etc. last year with new factory stuff. His little mishap cost him about $2500. And that is with me doing all the work. Shop would have been lots more...

Oh so that's what it looks like inside! Zook you are the man if you can do this internal gear stuff. Me I'm not so assured I'll get her back together with out some left over pieces.
I'm taking her to the shop tomorrow and let them do it. Too bad your'e not here,i'd rather be paying you!

Well I got her in the shop Gave them $500.00 down and waiting for the weekend to hear what kind of parts I'm gonna need.

Zook Well I got the bad news the tranny is pretty bad shape. Cycle shopays it'll be almost all gears are pretty worn said it's just a matter of time before the rest go too!
So I told him to go ahead with the rebuild. should be done not this weekend but next.

ouch bob that has gotta hurt dude! sorry to hear that .. the guy was a prick and a wanker who sold you that motor...as for the "couldve bought a new bike" yup i agree, with the money you have put into the 600 you couldve easily bought a secondhand bandit 1200 or something with the oomph you wanted with a riding style you like...maybe you just got bitten by the gsxr bug? anyways you know im a phone call away if you need a hand http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm glad to hear that you're getting it repaired anyway - lord knows that a lesser-mortal would have been tempted to pour gasoline and start tossing lit matches by now.
