Anyone had any grief from the police for wearing a tinted visor? And what is the exact law about them now? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

From what I understand you cannot wear any kind of tinted visor

Depends on the level of tint, i have a shoei genuine tinted visor that has a BS mark, no problems with that, now irridium or black, they're a different story......

i use the visor inserts (coolvision), their legal and work fine and look like a tinted visor
if it goes dark you just pull it out and put it under the seat http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I wear a blue iridium one on my AGV and have never had any bother yet. Dont think they mind as long as you have your clear one for when it gets dark.

The UK sucks for this policy ... I mean, when its sunny, people in cars wear sunglasses don't they, and besides which you have your clear under the seat just in case it goes dark/dull don't you http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Also, if you think about it, wearing sunglasses is more dangerous on the bike, not only could they cut your eyes if the worst were to happen, but if you enter a tunnel then with a visor, you can just flip it up, try getting sunglasses on and off from under yer visor as quick, and tell me that this is also safer!!?!? EXACTLY, its a load of money spinning bollox!!

I currently live in Germany, where thankfully they allow tinted/iridium/black visors during the day -
Night time is obviously a diff'rent story but you would probably only ever get grief for wearing a dark visor at night if you were to be involved in an accident ... hope it don't ever come to that tho'!

don't start me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..............see look what you've done now !!!!!!..................... I wear a rainbow iridium 'girls visor' in the day and always carry clear.

The law on this is a pile of she-ite in the U.K. and I'm sick of us all moaning and doing sod all about it.

For christs sake there are tens or even hundreds of thousands of us and we can't even manage to voice a single opinion to government, surely we can get our heads together and refuse to accept the half arsed law on this. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bs.gif

All we need to do is to set a petition type website up where people can leave their name etc and forward the damn thing to parliament , it's not rocket science (but I am dumb and can't do it myself). http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

I have the ideas and motivation but need help on this. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I did manage to get 1,000 signatures for the diesel spill petition and it made no difference a few years back, now maybe 100,000 and we are talking http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I wear glasses and I have to wear prescription sunglasses when its sunny. Thats why I was asking about the tinted visors, if it goes dark when I am out i have to stop and change my glasses or just keep on going in the dark if I am on the motorway.
If I was allowed to wear a slightly tinted visor, it would be safer.
