My gf is going to race 125`s next season and we are looking for a race van to transport the bike and sleep in. Any suggestions or recommendations? (Budget is a bit tight)

Cool. which clubs is she going to race with?

as for a race van, after trying the usual places of autotrader etc i started searching the for sale sections of the different racing sites:

http://www.bemsee.co.uk/cgi-bin/forsale_list.cgi is about your best bet and was where i found mine

http://www.derby-phoenix.co.uk also has a for sale forum

I also got speaking to someone who suggested using an auction. he managed to pick up an ex post ofice van cheap. apparently every now and again firms like the post office or BT will offload all their vans to an auction house and as there's loads of em up for sale the prices are usually quite low.

Got one today, a Merc van with a living conversion. Its a bit "used" inside but we can sort that. We have joined the Preston and District club, she has her ACU licence and a 1998 Honda RS125R so its all systems go!....First track day next wednesday at 3 sisters.

Excellent.

So does she ride on the road as well or just on the track?
What about yourself, get a bit of a race team going http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been doing Aintree this season. Not to far away and a dead friendly club. Plus a fair few girls as well. Three regularly go out in one of my races, two on 125's and one on a honda.

Can't quite convince my girlfriend to join in at the moment, but she has gone and done her Direct Access recently so I'm chuffed enough with that!

She rides an NC30 on the road.

I dont want to race, I earn my living in the sqaure ring so I cant afford any injuries. Before I started coaching full time, I earned my living as a mechanic so it seems I have now aquired the job of "team techy"

I am sure we will get to meet up with you at one of the local meetings next season.

She wil be the cute one on the track and I will be the grubby mechanic moaning when she blows the engine! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

LOL, cute girls in leather are always welcome.

we're the opposite way round, I'm the grubby one out on the track, she's the cute one up to her elbows in fibreglass in the pits.

See ya round.
