is a previous post that has some background info.

got a new batt on the bike, the old euro carbs, the ti yosh race system, the k&n.
just got everything back on it as the way it was when it left home to come to the states.
now, i have the idle screw set to where it idles at @ 1200 when warm. however when i go to ride the bike, the inital take off is sluggish, almost as if there is too much gas in the engine, then as soon as that goes away she pulls normal. when i go to stop, it takes a long while for the rpm's to come back down to 1200. it will float around 4k for a couple of secs then float back down to 1200 slowly. is this a carb problem? anyon have any insight on what to check adjust, please post, i miss riding my bike!!!!

I had a the very same issue, i haven't tracked it all down yet, but deffinetly take your carbs off and clean the float bowl and needles.

I think it's also possible the mixture as mine were originally set at 3.5 turns out when i bought the bike (completely stock)

Get some carb cleaner, a haynes manual, half a day and you'll have it ticking over better.

Whilst you have your carbs off take time to undo the blanking screws for balancing the carbs as you may need to do that and getting at the screws is alot easier without the carbs on.

Aswell as the carbs check the accelerator cable tension and the cable pulley
