Picked up the bike over the weekend and took it down to the scales before I did anything to it. It weighed in at 452 lbs, ready to ride minus gas. Kinda heavy.
Took it down to the dyno shop today and baselined it, completly stock it came in at 69 ft torque and 107.1HPat 9k. The powerband is pretty flat, and looked better than I was expecting.
Now it is time to start stripping and prepping.

Kippie,
hate to ask this but why did you decide to get the SV1k as opposed to a TL1000R that weighs less, has about 15 more hp and parts are more readely available? and you would be able to enter the same races you will with the SV1k?
just curious...

Mainly because I am a SV man, and I love spanking the factory superbikes with a lowly Sport-touring bike.
More reasons, and I am sure I will be pissing off the TL purists, but...
The TL is dead after this year.
The TL has the ridiculous rotary damper.
The TL is heavier.
The SV is eligible for contingencies.
No one is racing an SV.
the TL is dead.
HP is easy to make.
All and all, we will see how it works out, it may suck or it may be awesome, but I am just having fun anyway.

Chase Florea? Naw, he is too busy bitching about the Vegas race and AFM conspiracies....
I will most likely change the shock, but the difference is that the SV chassis and linkage are designed for a conventional shock, whereas the TL chassis is designed for the rotary unit which is replaced with a linear unit. I am sure the replacement works just fine, but I am just not into it.
Over the last 2 nights I cored out the stock pipes, disabled the PAIR system, de-snorkel the airbox, hardwired all the safety switches, and removed a good size bin full of 'added weight', and safety wired the bike. Taking it down to CCS this weekend at T-hill just for practice, see ya there Stingray if you are planning on going.

haha, no kiddin' eh?
all my bikes are in disarray and disrepair. haven't even touched the tiller since june. i'm going to try to hit up the 2 day STAR school in sept. and the last sears race. maybe try a CCS race later after the AFM season's over and a couple trackdays to keep myself from getting too rusty. who knows. damn, you're moving up while i'm moving down in cc's. most likely going to race the SV i picked up next season once i get everything prepped.
