I was looking at installing a solenoid hooked up to the 12V from the ignition and activated using a switch to open the trunk. Would make it easier when you pull up you can open your trunk without having to remove your key from the ignition. My biggest trouble was finding a small enough solenoid that wouldnt cause any problems if it was to be installed. Anyone got any ideas of possible solenoids or other ideas?

I'd bet a solenoid from a gas door on a car would be perfect

i was looking for something a little simpler. Just like a latch or something. But not breaking the key in it or glueing it in. Just like a leaver or something.

A simple lever should be no problem if you have a some basic machining skills and access to machining equipment. Failing that, take the key barrel and the key to a machining company, show them what you have, tell them what you want and they should be able to help you out.

I wondered if that was you when I saw SRAD99... but then I remembered your handle on Speed Tribe was 99SRAD so figured it was just a coincidence. How long have you been in C Springs?

What I did was use a cable and run it under the rear fairing. Then when I want to get into the rear trunk I pull on the cable. I used a bycicle cable. It works great for me. I left one end hanging about 3 inches out and thats what i grab. That little peice that the brake hooks into. And the other end I ran into the latch. Its simple to do.
