Hi, Im new here. I recently aquired a '97 GSXR600 motor that I am planning to use for a kart. The last 2 days, I have been trying to get it to spark using a simplified ignition wiring harness. I cant for the life of me get it to spark. Can you guys look over this schematic I modified to make sure it is valid? Im not worried about charging and other circuits yet, just a simple full loss ignition:

I have a feeling the CDI may be bad, I get nothing...
Does that pink neutral switch lead need to be grounded?

Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks,
JJ

It is most likely your CDI box, Is the wiring harness butchered ? If yes- you may have a bigger problem on your hand's.

EBAY.com for a used CDI box cheap

Hey mate.. I'm doing a similar thing, but I'm using a 95 or 96, 750. The pink wire has gotta go to the nuetral switch..
The switch has a variable resistance depending on the gear.. My CDI wouldn't spark without the switch.
I think I have the resistance figures here somewhere if you don't have the switch anymore.
Cheers, Greg.
