i'm new to this forum and noticed how it's missing 01-03 models. So I thought the next appropriate place to post this topic would be here.

I am almost finishing up the deal for an '01 gsxr 600 but the bike has a good 16xxx on it. Maybe not soon, but just incase the motor goes, I want to be prepared, mentally with knowledge, for a 750 swap.

Why don't you just do a 1000 swap. This isn't exactly what you are looking for, but it will give you a decent idea of what is involved. Don't forget to mod your suspension and brakes.
