I lost my ignition key. How do I go about getting a new one? I don't have the key code. Do I need the vin or another # to replace the key or do I need to get another cylinder?

You can either go to the dealer with your bike paper work and I.D, or you can take your ignition cylinder off and bring it to a locksmith that deals with automotive.

The dealership cannot order a key unless you have the code that came with the keys.

You can order a whole new ignition which will come with 2 keys...but...you're gas tank will still use the old key.

Get a cap that doesn't require a key. Or he gets a lock smith to make him a key for the old ignition. The problem is, a lot of places can't do it.

was in a suzuki dealer the other day and if your bike has an ignition switch transducer ( a chip in the key that relays a message to the an immobiliser system to allow the bike to start) then the only way to sort it is if you have the original master key (marked with either a red dot or key is red) or have all locks replaced on the bike.

suzuki has the immobilizer system , but not on the U.S models. Only thing I could suggest is like I said before, either check with the dealer or a locksmith. You could also check ebay . Im sure there is somebody selling complete lock sets for your bike (probably from a stolen bike). You might try to bring the tail lock or gas tank lock to a lock smith. they might be able to get a number off of one of those or pick it.

Get a locksmith to due it, but make sure the key work's, I have had key's made before & when I got home they wouldnt work, be sure to test it prior to completing the transaction or get a money back gurantee if the key dosent work.
