: Bank of America conversation

Here's an email that I received today I thought it was interesting...

A conversation between a Customer and Bank of America

Bank: This is the Bank of America, can I help you?

Customer: Yes, I want to cancel my account. I don't want to do business
with you any longer.

Bank: Why?

Customer: You're giving credit to illegal immigrants and I don't think it's
right. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Bank: Well, Mr. Customer, we don't want to see you do that, but we can't
stop you. I'll help you close the account. What is your account number?

Customer: (gives account number)

Bank: For security purposes and for your protection, can you please give me
the last four digits of your social security number?

Customer: No.

Bank: Mr. Customer, I need to verify your information, but in order to help
you, I'll need verification of who you are.

Customer: Why should I give you my social security number? The reason I'm
closing my account is that your bank is issuing credit cards to illegal
immigrants who don't have social security numbers.

You are targeting that audience and want their business. Let's say I'm an
illegal immigrant and you've given me a credit card. I have a question
about it and call for assistance. You wouldn't be asking me for a Social
Security number, would you?

Bank: No sir, I wouldn't.

Customer: Why not?

Bank: Because you would have pressed '2' to speak in Spanish. We don't ask
for that information when calling in on the Spanish line.

Dunno if the following is true, but it sounds plausible. I couldn't find anything on snopes.com about it.

The pendulum swings both ways...

Outrageous--------

I am hoping you have the opportunity to read this e-mail regarding the
utter frustration we as English-speaking Americans experience daily.
Hopefully, this will go beyond just an e-mail. Send it to everyone in your
address book... outrageous

This is an experience that happened to my wife on April 1, 2007, in
Denver County Traffic Court, Denver, Colorado.

She had to appear in traffic court as a result of a speeding ticket. She
was speeding and knew she would have a fine to pay. We have no problem with
that. The rest of the court experience, however, is something we should all
stand up and take exception to and ask what is happening to the United
States?

She was asked to be in court by 4:30PM that day, with which she
complied. However, when she got there, it was announced that all non-English
speaking persons with traffic violations would be taken care of first. The
reasoning being that the interpreter leaves every day at the same time and
does not stay late. So a reward for not speaking English is one gets to go
the front of the line.

Next, the non-English speaking individuals do not have driver's licenses
or insurance. Never was it asked why they did not have licenses, what they
were doing to get licenses or insurance. What they were given for driving
without a license was a $35 fine. Since many of them did not have $35 they
were also given payment terms. So, they are granted another reward for not
having the money to pay the fines.

My wife, who was born in Denver, Colorado, raised here, and lived here
all her life, was given a $249 fine for her speeding ticket, was not given
payment terms, and had to wait until all the non-English speaking, aliens
were treated first.
If I understand this correctly:

* Let's never require the non -English speaking individuals who live in
this country to learn English.

* Let's never require they become citizens of this United States of
America.

* Let's never require them to get driver's licenses and pray they never
kill someone on the road with their driving.

* Let's never require them to get automobile insurance, so that all of
us who do will pay higher and higher premiums for non-insured driver
insurance.

* Let's make sure that those of us who do get injured by these
individuals pay higher and higher health insurance premiums.

* Let's make sure those who can pay their fines, pay big ones to
subsidize all those little $35 fines on payment plans.

* Let's make sure we never inconvenience them and let's never
inconvenience the interpreters in this country who may have to work late.

Our Country is eroding every day right before our eyes. No country in
the world has ever survived having 2 major languages. We are heading down
that path.

So sad, makes me want to scam good ol' bank of America. If we could get about 20 illegals together with $500 in credit cards........thats a shopping spree. It would be so easy. Its not like the illegals will get negative credit ratings, they would just have to lie about their real name. They would never be able to trace them.

You know while I agree with the post. If you want something done ask someone of another nationality. 99.9% of the time it will get done fast and presentable (not half ass).

Back in the early 1900s - Germans, Italians, etc. were considered dirty peasants. We turned out OK.

Yeah, that definitely raises a giant red flag.

Although, many of the points of the story still hold true regarding illegals and licenses. Far too often they get a slap on the wrist. It's not until they injure or kill someone that they are prevented from driving.

dude, i had my last gixxer as my daily driver for 2 years. It's definitely fun to ride all the time, but I would never do that again. There are just way too many inconveniences that come along with it. I could never go grocery shopping or get a drive thru meal because of the drink. Any time I went on a date, I would have to either ask her to drive or borrow a friends car. Any time I would go meet up friends somewhere, I would look like a mess being all sweaty and have helmet hair. Any time i rode in the rain, it was pretty damn annoying. Although I commend those that are able to do this on a regular basis, it's not something that I was proud of doing for 2 years. I have a car and a bike now, so I have the best of both worlds. Now if i can only secure a truck for track days....

Grocery shopping? Dates?

Isn't that what the missus is for?

Luckily Drive-Thru hasn't reached New Zealand yet, it's pretty backward. Fast food out here is catching your own cow and getting it on the bbq before the sun goes down.

Along the lines of Bank of America. My only experience with it is in business form. I have never had a personal account with them, and watching the clientel as I was delivering deposits caused me to feel that I definitely made the right choice in keeping as far away from them as possible.

When I do business with a company I prefer to understand who i am working with, and quite honestly there were people behind the counter that were as bad as the people in front of the counter in terms of my inability to understand them. And it is not for lack of trying.

I no longer do any business with BOPA, and I will be keeping it that way. That's bullshit.

She rides the 750, I ride the thou.:piss
