It was a 93 grand am with a 4 cylinder in it and a screwed automatic transmission.

Ugh....I don't even like thinking about it.

Mine was a 86 Fiero. I got it in 1996. I thought it was the shit at the time. I paid $1,300 for it w/ 60,000 Miles. It was actually a decent car.
I got rear-ended at like 20 Mph. That was all it took to total it ! :crying

HAHA.....my parents bought it for me when I was 17 (brand new). I was begging for the Si model, but they saved themselves about 2 G's by getting me the HX instead. I constantly told them I would get a job to make payments on it myself, but they didn't believe me. Two months later, I was working full time and saved up some cash. Traded her in for a 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S with my own money after about a year. Still doesn't change the fact that she was my first.

Idiot?
Be happy somebody bought that ugly piece of shit.

My first car was a 1987 Ford Escort. Super-base model, had the 4-speed trans, am/fm stereo (no cassette), no A/C, and it had years of pure abuse before I got my hands on it.
I loved that car because it simply took all the beatings I gave it. Hammered it around the Marin backroads for years, folding sidewalls around the corners, hill climbs, dirt road/4x4 trail driving, railroad track jumps (I learned quickly about the emergency fuel cut-off with that).
Lawn driving and e-braking on every school lawn in town (and some out). I blew the head gasket because I never checked the water when I knew the pump was leaking. That was the first head gasket I ever changed on my own. Snapped the head bolts in the process because I misinterpreted the torque instructions. Still got another 15-20K miles after I did it right. I got suspended one last time where my dad said he was kicking me out of the house if I got suspended again. That day, after leaving the school, I went straight to the cow-fields and proceded to ebrake my heart out and wound up with a couple flat tires. I towed my 69 F-250 to San Rafael and back from Novato....with a chain. That smoked the clutch, so I swapped it out, and subsequently disintegrated the replacement clutch trying to put the car in 1st at 75+ mph. I gave it up after that and rammed into it with my truck a few times before I abandoned it. :lol :lol :lol

Good times, good times.

This is what it looked like:

Traded a skateboard deck for it when I was 14. Thing had a ratchet strap holding the hood down and you had to turn on the fuel pump manually via a switch on the dash before starting. Sold it to a friend a couple years later for 100 bucks and bought another damn scirocco.. fun little cars actually

I don't have any scanned pics of my first car. It was a 1971 Camaro. It was a rust bucket piece of shit with no motor when I got it in 1985, or so. I paid 300 bucks for it and dropped about 2 grand into it for the motor and paint. Put a small block 350 in it with a Holley 750 double pumper carb, edelbrock intake and a few other odds and ends. Man, I miss that car. It was an automatic, but I still had a blast driving it. It looked like this one, but mine was painted blue and did not have the racing stripes on it.

Just because a car has "engine work" doesn't automatically disqualify it from ricer status. And no bullshit stuff like most people do? :lol I saw a bunch of bull shit stuff on your rides.

Here is a pick of an almost identical car like mine. Fuckin slow, ugly, smelled bad and rode like shit. How Ford ever put a Mustang nameplate on it is beyond me. It was given to me by my uncle so I never paid a dime for it. I remember shooting BB's at it in disgust.

1970 Camaro, 307 w/ a 3-speed on the floor. This isn't a pic of my car, but same exterior and interior colors. Mine had ralley wheels instead of those things. Paid $700 for it and got about $770 when I traded it in on a brand new 1979 Camaro R/S.

here's mine. 72 datsun truck. not this exact one. she was mustard yellow and was so oxidized it looked like primer...and I could pretend I was the flintstones...I could put my feet on the ground from inside the cab... I spent 1500 bucks in work on it just to have the engine fry the week after I got it back from the shop. the oil cap came off while I was driving, spewing oil everywhere and cooked the valve train, and lost all compression in two cylinders...those were the days.

My first car was a 69 plymouth roadrunner(beep beep) I bought off my uncle. He loved the old mopars (me too) and he had quite a few of them . He was a mechanic who had a big junk yard with all kinds of old cars. Me and my uncle took the 383 magnum out of it and put a 440 interceptor that came out of a old 4 door police plymouth fury. I ended up selling it to him and fixing up and old 69 ford pickup with a 390 in it.

What the hell was I thinking?:wtf

This is similar to my first car. 1980 Fiat Spider 2000. I was taken home from the hospital in this car. Except mine was lowered, had a roll bar, worked cams, full ANSA exhaust, rally fenders, and never ran regularly :lol I had to fix it up from a 3 year slumber inorder for me to drive it.

'93 Mustang...used to be my mom's car...we owned it since 12/92, pulled it off the lot brand new. Given to me in '98 and that's when the money started to go in.

Still have her in the garage. I put it to sleep as I want to build a juiced 408w, do a 5 lug conversion with Baers, and a tubular front set up.

First car I owned, but I only drove this for a year(about 4k miles) and for the last 4 years, my dad has driven it for free(he pays for insurance and maintenance). It's a 1997 Dodge Neon SOHC 5sp w/ 96k miles, I bought it in 2003 for $400 with 61k miles and a blown head gasket. Fixed the head gasket and did some preventative work(new Water Pump, timing belt, belt tensioner and new heater hoses; cost of about $200) and have done nothing but maintenance and one set of tires over 5 years. I can't bring myself to sell it because there isn't now and hasn't been anything wrong with it and it gets 30/42mpg. Here is a photo of it from last year:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e262/triumphgt6/1997%20Dodge%20Neon/passengerfront.jpg

Then I was given this by a family friend. It's a 1991 Lincoln Town Car that blew it's motor up in the early 1990s after being run 30k miles without an oil change, it blew up with 75k miles, now it has 105k(30k on bottom end rebuild). It sat for a bit over 10 years in a garage with a car cover over it and I was given it. Since 06/2004 this has been my daily driver and is reliable as hell and cheap for insurance, parts and decent on gas. Driving mostly city I get about 19mpg.

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e262/triumphgt6/lincolnpass.jpg

While fixing the Lincoln, I found this in the bargain corner in March of 2004. It was a 1973 Triumph GT6 MK3 w/ 51k miles. I paid $440 for it and spent about $500 in repairs and drove it for 3 years and sold it for $2000. Got about 20mpg on premium with lead additive, and although it had less than 100hp, it wasn't that bad on acceleration. This was the first car I paid for though.

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e262/triumphgt6/1973%20Triumph%20GT6%20For%20Sale/backend.jpg

Besides currently owning the Neon and Lincoln, I also own a 1987 Corvette Convertible, a 1973 Honda ST90 K0, a 1983 Honda V45 Magna and a 1995 Suzuki GSXR1100W. In the past I have also owned a 1998 Toyota Camry 5SFE Auto and a 1996 Saturn SL1, Camry sold to mom and Saturn sold to sister; both at cost(my time and great effort in engine rebuilds not included...).

1999 Eclipse GST.... loved that car. Literally put blood and sweat into it and turned me into the mechanically inclined wrencher that I am today. Towards the end I had a 50 trim turbo with all the fixens but sold it because I had a feeling it was going to crank walk on me.
