If I install a slip on exhaust, do I need to rejet the carbs? Any info would help http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

have to? no.

good idea? yes.

cheap, easy and makes a few more ponies? Desnorkle the filter and install 145 mains, 17.5 pilots and shim the needles .020". The rejet will cost under $10.

Sounds good...I will do all, I may sound like a fool, but how do I "desnorkle the filter"? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

look onsvrider for more info, but....if you look at your air filter, it has a round hole in the top. Your filter is oval shaped...remove the top of the filter so that the hole is now oval rather than round...Ta Daa! de-snorkled.

I just got the K&N air filter which has bigger opening and gets rid of the higher lip and it sounds a lot louder and stronger than before. I also added 5/16 spacers under the two screws that hold the tank down and it's even better.
