Im not sure if this should go in the gear section but im hoping that more ladies frequent here so ill get better responses.

My girl's been askin to get on the back for a while now and i refuse to let her on w/out gear, anyway her birthday is coming up and i figured what better way to surprise then get some gear for her.

Right now im looking at either getting her the joe rocket pheonix or jet set gloves. Leaning toward the pheonix just because they're mesh. Do those offer good protection and how far up he wrist do they go, they dont look like guantlet style gloves. Are there better alternatives that offer decent protection? Also her hand is at most 2.5" wide so thats would be a xsmall but her nails can be as long as a 1/4" would the xsmall still fit or would going up a size be better?

As far as jackets go im lost, what would you recommend? She's 5' 6" roughly 120 lbs. Compared to her torso I'd say her arms are fairly long. So Im thinking a jacket with longer sleves would be good. Also she has a really narrow waist (i dont know the size) but her hips are wide so often her lower back is exposed. Im hoping to find a jacket that wont ride up when she leans forward are there jackets that cover the lower back well or is that more relevant to pants?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hey, I was wondering around in this section looking for some ideas for a pair of riding pants for my girl when I saw your post..

My girlfriend is about 5' 1", 95 lbs, size 0. She wears Joe Rocket Trixie Gloves size x-small which fit perfect. She also has Joe Rocket Trixie Leather Jacket that fit a bit loose. Another friend of mine who is 5' 4" (~110 lbs) tried the jacket on, and it fit her perfectly, but the gloves were too small on her. My girl also has a pair of Icon Standard Jeans in size 3, that fit loose around the waist, but fit very tight in the butt. She tells me her jeans are not comfortable (big time wedgie).

Hope this helps.. and glad to hear that you wanna get her geared up to go riding. Here in NYC I see too many people riding 2-up with nothing but tanks, shorts and sneaks.

Cheers!
