My buddy has a 02 sv650 and he's so jealous of how easily I can pop wheelies on my 01 750, how would someone go about popping a wheelie on his bike? I know it has less torque and whatnot, but is it possible?? any help is greatly appreciated by him I'm sure http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Very possible. 1st gear roll-ons are easy if you lean back and whack the throttle. 2nd gear comes up easily at about 5k rpm and a tiny flick of the clutch. 3rd will come up in a standup with a little clutch also. This is on my stock geared SVS by the way. I've also done it on another guys naked cuz he said it couldn't be done http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif If you want it really easy, go down 1 tooth up front.

Here's a short video I posted Righ click, save as (http://www.sportbikerider.us/Sportbike_Rider/Videos/SV%20wheelie3.mpg?CFID=209585&CFTOKEN=43975718)
This is my 01 SVS with full Micron, K&N filter and Dynojet stage 1 kit.

Very possible ? You should have pointed him to the link above from your "sounds" post showing you doing a wheelie on your "stock" SV (cough, cough).

My stock SV homes up even when i'm not trying. even had it come up shifting into 4th. I think that's why I need a new tire at 4K miles.

From what I have seen the SV650 will come up much easier than a gixxer from off the line but a gixxer can come up while moving and around 7K RPM. I could be wrong but an SV would never be able to pull a wheelie on the freeway like a gixxer could.

This is a bit late but... I was just out last nite on some backroads popping wheelies on my Kawasaki Ninja EX250... if your buddy can't do it on an SV, I don't know what he's doing wrong, my fat (230 or more lb w/ full gear on) ass can do it on a 28HP bike the only catch is that it only works to slip the clutch from about a 5mph roll on at around 9000RPM which is a bit crazy but fun!
