Where'd ya get em, and how much. I've got a tail but I need some lights. Not sure if I'm going with Libertek's or just normal lenses. Thanks.

I got mine with my Extreme Graphics tail... entire setup cost me $600, not sure what the cost of the lights are individually though, sorry.

I would highly recommend the liberteks though. Worth every penny!

Which libertek lights did you get exactly? I've been eyeing those new ones they have which integrate an arrow'd indicator into them. I'm not *too* fond of the mounting procedure for them though, but I haven't got an undertail yet either so I guess the mounting for them depends on the size of the light hole in the undertail.

These are the libertek's I'm talking about: http://www.libertek.com/PRODUCTS_dl.html

How do you like the Extreme Moto Graphic Design undertail? I think theirs looks like the best one out on the market, but it's lack of indicator lights is a little of a downer. Did you have to chop up your trunk space at all? I sent them an email asking for install pics to see what kinda hacking needs to be done, but no reply just yet.

If you have any pics of your install, lemme see - I could also meet up with you somewhere to check it out if that's ok. I really want to make sure I get the best undertail the first time around for my bike - just owning this thing is expensive enough!

Nutbar, my Liberteks have the integrated turn signals just like you posted. Not sure what you mean about Extreme Graphics "lack of indicator lights"...

Extreme Graphics gave me the option of red or clear light covers, so I went with the red.

Here's a pic:

http://www.kaoticcustoms.com/images/gallery/LuiKangUndertail.jpg

In order to get it installed, I had to cut a part of the fender. I'm not sure how much space I lost in my storage compartment, but I can store a visor in there if I move my tool kit -- and that's all that matters to me.

With that said, I did a lot of research, and the extreme graphics tail with the liberteks seemed like the best option.

I'm a perfectionist, and I am very satisfied with this purchase. I wouldn't exchange it for any other tail on the market.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Good luck.

The pic above is the only pic I have of my tail -- and I don't own a digicam.

As long as you're in Ottawa, I can make time to meet up with ya. Lemme know.

Yeah, that would be cool - the pic you posted looks damn sweet http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. I did a lot of research too and was looking at all sorts of undertails, and I liked that one the most. The indicator thing was that it's only got 2 holes for the rear brake lights, which means you have to integrate turn signals into those. I was eyeing the undertail from Hotbodies a bit - but really only liked the design of the undertail for the GSX-R1000 and the R1 because of that sweet looking bar of LEDs for the left/right indicators which is separate from the brake light.

I was just a bit worried with the abundance of Quebec drivers (and the dumb Ottawa ones too) that they wouldn't be able to see which direction I'm indicating if they're a bit far behind since both lights are so close together.

Having the arrowed Liberteks was my first idea, and they look damn sweet too - I'd like to ride behind ya a bit and see what it looks like (brightness, etc...).

Send me a private msg on here to figure out a time we can meet up. I should be free all this coming weekend. Oh, and yah I'm in Ottawa - like 5 minutes from B&A http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For anyone checking this thread out, and hopefully for anyone doing searches for undertails, fender eliminators, Libertek or whatever...

I got to see his bike, and that undertail fit *perfectly*. The Libertek lights were the higlight though, they fit nicely in there (didn't have to cut his trunk to accomodate the lights) and they are BRIGHT. The integrated indicators (amber LEDs that blink on the outer corner of the bulb set) were clearly visible, and the brake lights were about as bright as the stock light.

He had to cut his trunk a bit to fit the tail, as you do with most fender eliminators. It wasn't much though, and you can make it barely visible if you're really good with tools. You need to cut a little triangle piece out (looking from the side) so you get a slant that goes with the slant of the under part of the tail - it's not much and I've seen photographs on various pages of this same method (Hotbodies I believe).

I'm defintely getting that undertail and a pair of those libertek lights, but Lui said it ran him $600 (that's directly from Extreme Graphics too) - I'm hoping I can get it cheaper, maybe by just ordering the undertail from 'em, and then contacting Libertek directly for their lights. I think it's the Libertek lights that really boosted the price to $600.

If I can afford it next month, I'll get it and see if I can borrow a buddies digital camera so I can take shots of all the install steps if anyone's interested. I'll also get some shots of the lights in the light/dark for anyone considering the Libertek lights.

Oh, and don't forget to get a hugger too - don't want to scratch the undertail. Lui didn't have one, but also didn't have any scratches from what I could see, just a bit of a mud trail near the very bottom of the tail (closest to the tire).

Best looking hugger I've seen is from Hotbodies (http://www.hotbodiesracing.com/Huggers.php4) - the one in the middle at the top called the "R1 Style" hugger. I'll get one of those too and put up some pics if possible (I wonder how the hell that thing fits on the bike! There aren't any mounting holes anywhere along where this thing sits... I hope they don't make me use sticky tape).

Fuck it, I hate huggers http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif -- I hate the way they look on Gixxers. Put a hugger on a Gix, and park it next to an R1, you'll see what I mean.

Seriously though, I have NO beefs with this tail. I think the brake lights are actually brighter than stock, and I've had friends follow me during the day and say that the lights (signals and brakes) are clearly visible as well.

Anyways, worth every penny -- I wouldn't get any other kind of undertail.

You don't even like the picture of the one I'm thinking of getting? I hate the curvy huggers, they look so gay (especially the yellowish ones - looks like a friggin banana on your tire!). But the straight angled one I think looks a bit decent. My only concern with that one is that I don't know how it would get mounted securely, and I also need to really be careful of the clearance of the hugger with the undertail.

Last thing I want is to hit a speedbump and hear a lovely *crack* as my hugger embeds itself into my undertail!

I dunno, the hugger I'm still iffy on. $600 for the undertail/lights is already double what I budgeted for, so heh. Then I've still gotta get Watsen Design front indicators (http://www.watsendesign.com/GSXR%20Front%20Signals/signals.htm) which are another $125, and maybe those little circle lights he's got for the side of the fairing too to add some side indicator visibility.

So that's like $750 in one month! Plus I still need to go out and spend $50 on a torque wrench so I can mount my frame sliders (I got Intuitive frame, bar, and spool sliders for $200CAD after taxes, s/h, border fees, etc... Ordered directly from Intuitive, took a week. These things are real nice, fit on perfectly).

Aaaaand this is all after spending $300 or so on some Kryptonite New York chains to lock my bike up http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I need to win the lottery or *gasp*, wait a few more months before getting all these mods http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif

I just noticed they have the same thing in carbon fiber:

http://www.hotbodiesracing.com/pop_images_single/pop_hugger_16.jpg

It's like $20 more and that's it! I think i'll get that - CF looks so purdy, and if it's not just a CF imitation look, it should hold up to more wear & tear than fiberglass or plastic would, which is a good thing for a hugger.
