Hi all. I need to bleed my front brakes, I can feel a lot of air in them.
Please dont suggest a mightyvac, I'm in South Africa, so I cant go out and buy one....
Any decent walkthroughs? I've bled them 4 times now, and I still have air in them.
the best way to bleed is to also bleed the master. at the bolt that holds the lines to the master.....brake brake brake hold.....lossen it and the air you still have will probly be there
I'm in South Africa, so I cant go out and buy one
-consider some speed bleeders, even in s africa. otherwise get a fellow S African to help, one operate the valve, other the lever.
-gently tap the lines and assemblies to dislodge air. flex any hose you got, especially between master cyc and brake lever.
-use a quality flluid, must be new off the shelf.

is your brake master cylinder resevoir mounted directly to the master cylinder or is it remote? you may have a seal leaking air if its mounted direct. you dont say if the brakes feel ok at stand still or wheather it goes spongy after riding.... if its spongy at standstill then you could have worn seals in the master cylinder.
hope this helps

if u can get someone to help you, it really makes it alot easier with two people, basically pump the brake a few times. it will build up pressure. then while keeping the brake pressed, open the valve let it drain..DO NOT LET GO OF THE BRAKE UNTILL U HAVE TIGHTEND THE BLEEDER valve COMPLETELY. Then, repeat. pump pump pump pump. hold, unscrew, keep holding, tighten screw, repeat. etc etc
