I am debating either a new SV650 or a 94 Gixxer 750. Mostly to ride but I would like to get into some light stunting. The appeal of the SV is it's NEW so there shouldn't be any problems. But also there is the worry of voiding the warranty with mods. The gixxer is already out of warranty and has probably already had it's 'problems' taken care of. it is also about $800 cheaper. What is the aftermarket supply like for these two bikes. If it matters I am 6'3" 300LBS.

I'd say the SV! For stunting, it's much lighter. It has been on the market since '99 and there have been now problems what so ever. Of course Suzuki may have made some problems with the new one (a LOT of changes), but I don't think so. At least for the '99-'02 model there are heaps of aftermarket products, and with the popularity it has gained, I'm sure there will be at least as many for the '03- http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. 2WheelJunkie (http://www.2wheeljunkie.com) already has some stuff for it. On the other hand, I don't think much is being produced for the old Gixxer anymore...

Yup. Get the SV. I have a '99 and an '03 Gixxer 1K... My girlfriend rides the SV most of the time, but when I am out by myself just running around town, I usually take it out... I would like to get an SV1000S, but I don't think she is ready for that step up...

Ok then reguarding my size, and stunting, SV or SVS?

There's a bit more space on the naked SV (higher handlebars, lower, more forward footrests) and it's geared +1 on the rear stock, compared to the SVS. Plus it doesn't have a fairing to break... Do get frame sliders right away, though...

BTW, if it's of interest, I'm 5'11", 230lbs and have an "S" with raised rearsets (1.2" up and 1.2" backwards), raised rear (4" up) and dropped front (.8" down) - and I feel great in that position!!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif It's not for everyone, though...

I would opt for the sv too. Something about getting a nine year old bike scares me.

I would get the SV if you are going to do stunting.
