I got my SV set up pretty good for hanging onto or http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bitchslap.gif just about anything in the twisties now.
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/venstre2.JPG
The "Pissin' on Supersports" setup includes:
Engine, etc. Mods:
- Arrow full race exhaust
- K&N air filter
- Raised fuel tank (for better air flow to the intake)
- Re-jetted to fit the above
- TRE
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/bagende_hojre.JPG
All this gives a bit more out of the corners, but the real winners are:
Suspension/Geometry Mods:
- Showa rear shock (from RC36 - also raises rear ~10cm)
- Wirth progressive front forks
- 20W Castrol fork oil (instead of 10W stock)
- front dropped 20mm (by sliding forks up - and Kippie - the fender doesn't hit anything. Believe me, I've tried... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif)
- Metzeler ME Z3 tires (instead of the crappy touring Z4s that are stock - I'll probably try out M-1s next http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif)
- LSL rear sets for more front oriented seating position and added clearence

Mmm - twisties http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/yumyum.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/yumyum.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/yumyum.gif
BTW, the suspension setup didn't even cost that much! I got the shock for ~40US$ (used, eBay), fork springs for ~75$ (new, eBay) and the fork oil for maybe 15$. Oh, yeah - and a new bottom bolt for mounting the shock for maybe 1$ http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Total cost: ~121$ http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif
I did all the work myself (isn't that hard, really) so that cost me maybe 8-10 hours - not bad for turning a stock SV (suspension-wise) into the best handling bike I've ever ridden (including the RSV Mille http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/yumyum.gif)

looks good SVS, lets go for a ride and smoke those big bikes!
Are you using that g-pack TRE? have you noticed anything? I aasume it plugs inline with the gear position sensor?
How did the oil work in the front? I think you still have stock valves, right? feels good?
-Kurt
Thanks http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
Yup, I'm using the G-Pack TRE - not the overly expensive one, though, but a home-made one I got for the equivalent of ~20$ http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
It does attach inline with the gear position sensor, at the connectors at the left side of the frame. I felt the difference right away http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif The engine revs much more freely than before in 2nd and 3rd. Definately 20 bucks worth http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif
The fork oil is great http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bounce.gif I did change it while changing the springs, so I can't compare directly, but the damping feels better. And right, I didn't change the valves...
Works great anyway - the changed steering geometry too - flickability= http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif

what is the resister value that you used? My GPS is disconnected all together, (since I have all of 5 wires on my bike) but I would love to try it and see.
If your rebounds is still too fast you can braze the rebound orifice shut in your tubes. We have found that to work well with stock valves.
I have the bodywork off my bike right now, maybe I will take some pictures of my bone-stocker tonight.
I don't actually know the resistance in the G-Pack - I didn't measure it when I put it in, and now it's all shrink wrapped... The rebound is fine, but maybe the 220lbs in the seat helps a little as well http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I may be taking her to the track in August or September. The problem is that the nearest track that allows bikes bigger than 125cc is a 100 miles away - in Sweden (and you have to take a ferry to get there) - and only open to non-stock exhaust bikes on weekdays http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif
The damn tree-huggers http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/piss.gif have prevented the making of better tracks here...
So, I might be getting an Aprilia RS125 just to throw around the local track next year http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice job on all the work you have done to your bike. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif But you need to get rid of those chicken strips on your tires. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hard to do on public roads... Especially while hanging off. I'll throw in a couple of tire pics when I get back from the track... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif

That would be cool. I'll keep checking back. I also think that you did an awesome job with your mods on a budget because most upgrades like that cost so damn much. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif
Thanks http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Ain't going to the track 'till September, so...
But I can shoot you a pic of my scraped boot toes now... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif J/K http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
