: So it happened...
SexyGsxr600-04 04-15-2007, 10:16 PM So today the boyfriend decided he was gonna give me some more lessons on the bike before I take my endorsement class at the college overall I think I learned alot about clutch and throttle response and picked up on some hints he gave....he actually got on the back and would take off and then let me pick up....so as he was washing my car lol and letting me practice a little bit on my own he decided he thought it was time I give it a go on my own...iffy I figured I would give it a shot, so I held the clutch in poped it in gear and eased into it not wanting to actually give it enough throttle at first to get me going because of course it was my first time taking off on my own well I got going actually a little too close to a mail box for my likings lol so I grabbed the front brake not knowing I needed to hold the clutch down first and when I went to put my feet down started to lean to the left and too be honest 115Ibs Vs. 400Ib I went down :( I was more upset for Chris then anything else and he ran up laughing and making sure I was okay...thank god for frame sliders I scratched up his frame sliders and the left mirror a little and a small nick on the tail :nono So I feel like shit about it all but know that in order for me to learn I need to fall and get back up and learn from my mistakes...even thu he has a 3 inch drop in the back and 2 in the front I still struggle a bit to stay flat footed which also was an issue and we measured and his seat is 2 inches wider then the gsx-r..but anyways just figured I'd share in my learning process.
detonator2 04-15-2007, 10:30 PM Yup, you need to take the MSF course. They'll teach you all about that fun stuff and the best part is you can drop their bikes. (I did and I never got a bill). Not to come across as a dick, but have you heard of punctuation? That was a tad hard to read.
BMFRaven 04-15-2007, 11:21 PM seee the true story is ............. the r6 unleashed the furyyy under her wrist !!! haha . she was doing good . just little bit of panic and forgetting the clutch . so it jerked and she didnt get good enough fondation , its all good nothing really hurt at all . Thank god for frame sliders .
SexyGsxr600-04 04-15-2007, 11:28 PM Sorry..I was in a hurry writing it because I was at my boyfriends and it was getting late and I wanted to post it and get going home but yeah I've heard of punctuation...imagine that.
SheSpawn 04-15-2007, 11:49 PM That is ok my husband dropped his brand new gixxer 600 5 minutes after I brought it home. He had already learned to ride a bit and was doing fine, but as soon as I rode in on his brand spanking new 1 hour old bike, he took it up the road and the first thing he did was drop it. THen the second thing he did, was drop it. It happens to everyone :-)
Prototype 04-16-2007, 10:01 AM Don't worry about it I did the same thing on the first day I got my bike home. It happens . . . I just finished the course this weekend and had a blast!!!! You're gonna love it! good luck I hope to hear about all of your progress as you will definately hear about mine
Sassy Chassis 04-16-2007, 01:22 PM This is one of the reasons why getting a used bike for a first bike is better...you aren't so worried about the drop-n-scratch! My first bike (Ninja 250) and me went down a couple of times in the grass next to the driveway, but I got a lot of learning out of her.
Pay close attention to the "friction zone" during your MSF course and always be SMOOTH with the throttle, clutch and brakes. Good luck girl!
Will Goes Boing 04-16-2007, 05:21 PM I still don't understand why girls feel the need to already know how to ride before taking the MSF course. YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO RIDE BEFORE YOU TAKE IT!!
It's better you learn and drop their shitty bikes rather than your own.
ant f 04-16-2007, 06:06 PM I was more upset for Chris then anything else and he ran up laughing and making sure I was okay...thank god for frame sliders I scratched up his frame sliders and the left mirror a little and a small nick on the tail
just so you know, thats not what he was doing on the inside:cursing
you should buy a scooter and practice on that.
Will Goes Boing 04-16-2007, 06:18 PM just so you know, thats not what he was doing on the inside:cursing
you should buy a scooter and practice on that.
Werd... you must be extremely hot or you guys aren't that comfortable with eachother yet. Because I wouldn't let my girlfriend ride my bike and even if I did... and she dropped it; I would slay her. :cursing
detonator2 04-16-2007, 07:40 PM Werd... you must be extremely hot or you guys aren't that comfortable with eachother yet. Because I wouldn't let my girlfriend ride my bike and even if I did... and she dropped it; I would slay her. :cursing
Quoted for truth. If other people ask me if I want to ride their bikes, I say no. I couldn't cheat on my gixx like that and i'd be afraid to drop it.
SexyGsxr600-04 04-16-2007, 10:25 PM Just for the record my boyfriend and I have been together for 2 yrs now and if he really didn't want me on his bike he wouldn't have told me he wanted to help and be such a big part of me learning no offense...why do guys always have to make gurls feel like shit about when they make a mistake like you guys are perfect, I already beat myself up enough about it but thanks!
BMFRaven 04-16-2007, 10:26 PM welllllll i wasnt mad at her at all and still arent . it was MY choice to teach her on it . ANd it was me who said lets do a striaght line . she was fine except for forgettin to pull clutch because she paniced . and ya she is beautiful . the bike can be fixed and money isnt a big thing to me . me knowing inside i taught her and helped her with something that means a lot makes me feel good inside . i was glad she was ok seeing 400 lbs fell on her leg lol .
detonator2 04-16-2007, 10:45 PM Maybe I should have revised the quote to the part that says...
I wouldn't let my girlfriend ride my bike...etc...
1) If she didn't know how to ride she'd probably drop it.
2) If she got hurt, i'd feel like shit for a while regardless of how the bike looked.
BMFRaven 04-16-2007, 10:48 PM ooooo gotcha . well it had to happen eventualy . she sat for over a half hour learning the friction zone and i had her rev to 4 grand and hold it then 6 and hold it then 3 and hold it . to get use to how toucy a throttle is . she did good taken off . but i see what your saying
detonator2 04-17-2007, 11:34 AM Well, I still say MSF...
blldawgbiker 04-17-2007, 12:21 PM i second that motion.
Claw1821 04-17-2007, 01:16 PM It just takes practice
BMFRaven 04-17-2007, 01:30 PM ya like she said she already sceduled the class she starts either this wedesday or next . i was just giving her some seat time before hand .
jdkarafa 04-17-2007, 07:29 PM It was just a Yamaha. ;)
detonator2 04-17-2007, 11:26 PM It was just a Yamaha. ;)
Ah, good point :flipoff
Ghostrydr600 04-18-2007, 12:15 AM +2 on good point...and bro...when she gets a 07 600 like it states...her bike will be wayyyyyyyy better then yours......just sayin the truth here thats all....ride on and be safe
BMFRaven 04-18-2007, 08:59 AM haha very funny . i dont wanna start a war . i put more at the wheel then yall and my bike won ama super stock 2 years in a row 06 and 07 .... rated most advanced 600 out , best handling , but hey that dont count right ??
detonator2 04-18-2007, 10:13 AM you dont want to start a war because you're outnumbered.
musicman3x 04-18-2007, 11:51 AM I let my sister and my girlfiend learn on my bike, but I also have a full cage on it. my sister dropped it after she came to a stop. It always seams that it is easier for beginners to ride with out falling then stop with out falling.
Ghostrydr600 04-18-2007, 01:43 PM haha very funny . i dont wanna start a war . i put more at the wheel then yall and my bike won ama super stock 2 years in a row 06 and 07 .... rated most advanced 600 out , best handling , but hey that dont count right ??
congrats man...but still....nuttin outperforms or outlooks a gixxer..especailly the 06-07 models....
Will Goes Boing 04-18-2007, 02:13 PM congrats man...but still....nuttin outperforms or outlooks a gixxer..especailly the 06-07 models....
Well.... that's purely subjective. Lets give the guy some respect here ok. No need to start this "my bike is better than yours" bullshit.
njsgsxr750 04-18-2007, 02:23 PM Better the Yami then the Suzuki hehe. Glad your ok though
BMFRaven 04-18-2007, 05:57 PM exactly we can back and fourth all day but its the rider . and it seems its the same ones tlaking the shit . so if you aint got nothing good to say or helpful keep your mouth shut , i hate the forum bullshit and this site has got to be the worst i ever been on .
ripvanwinkle 04-18-2007, 06:21 PM why do guys always have to make gurls feel like shit about when they make a mistake ...
see, the problem is that when guys treat women like crap, women often believe it is because they are women. whoa!
check out more of this site! there are a lot of nice people here, but many a-ho's seem to love to jump on newbies (read "guys") and make them feel bad. immature as heck. just the old school bully thing.
don't worry about it at all. you learned. you and the bike are fine. go at it again. you'll get it.
statistically however, people who learn in the dirt are less likely to wreck and when they do, the wrecks are less severe.
get in the dirt with a dirt bike if at all possible. even if just for a weekend. the experience will train your brain and can save your butt on the road by allowing you to react faster than your 'thinking brain' could.
always wear full leathers on the road and of course a full face helmet.
get good leathers. they last forever. my suit is 20 years old and looks new.
suggestion: hold off on drag racing for now... :lol
jdkarafa 04-18-2007, 08:11 PM exactly we can back and fourth all day but its the rider . and it seems its the same ones tlaking the shit . so if you aint got nothing good to say or helpful keep your mouth shut , i hate the forum bullshit and this site has got to be the worst i ever been on .
If you are gonna say "if you ain't got nothing good to say or helpful keep your mouth shut", why would you be an ass and say this is the worst forum you have ever been on??? No one asked you to come here and babysit your girlfriend...go back to the Yamaha forums.
Sorry for the rant, but I couldn't let a comment like that go untouched.
SexyGsxr600-04 04-18-2007, 09:38 PM well to be honest i plan on gettin a gsxr 1000 as my next bike . and im not here to watch her . i never once got on her mustang site she was on . bikes intrest me and im curious to competition and see big differences . and ya this site is the worst . and the only reason i say that is to give you guys feedback on how its been ran , the mods should leave comments to stay on topic and such . but whatever man say what you want
SexyGsxr600-04 04-18-2007, 09:39 PM damn it man she stayed logged in again , that was suppose to be under bmfraven whoops
SexyGsxr600-04 04-18-2007, 10:01 PM OK.....wowww A) Some of you need to grow the f*ck up. B) Hes practically my husband and hes only trying to help me and make sure that im gonna be safe, big f*cking deal he rides a Yamaslow lol he likes my bike too this forum is for learning not bullshit so all you guys trying to show off and not giving me usefull information other then your smart ass remarks do me a favor and dont waste my time C) Hes making points not trying to be a dick and he is defending me because some of you dickheads pissed me off with this....ohhh and I do reading on his bike as well and it is A FACT: that his bike is rated one of the best 600's out his has better handeling and mine is better in 1.4 mile all depends whats more important to you and rider vs rider....and there is such a thing as beauty and brains sucks some of you guys haven't met a girl like that yet. D) Thank you very much for those who put real insight into my post and offered some suggestions without the drama and bs( RipVanWinkle and few others)!!
jdkarafa 04-18-2007, 10:16 PM Sorry to ruffle feathers....I just thought that was a dumb comment. I think it's awesome that she has an interest in riding and hope you both ride safe.
Fuzy_GSXR1000 04-18-2007, 10:21 PM LOL a Yamahaslow??? thats funny at least you have a sense of humor...btw Yammi's are badass...good friend rocks a 2006 R1 and he smokes alot of people! You were right cutiepie its the rider not the bike...Rossi or Mlaladin would probably smoke most folks here on a fuckin moped(present company included.) As fas as your mishap...rome wasn't built in a day don't beat yourself up you have the COURAGE as a young adult to learn to ride thats plenty right there. I learned when I was a kid on dirtbikes then later on in life(about 27yrs old tackled the street). Take the MSF courses, read books, wear leathers(preferably very tight ones and be aure to post pics:D ), and keep doing what your doing pursuing your passion to ride like everybody fuckin else on this board. reality is that your fuckin hot are were all jealous!!!!!!LOL GO BABYGURL GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:punk

I read this and blah blah blah. Has your bf/husband even posted anywhere other than the girlie section? Just a question? :scratch
:cheers To gixxer.com being the WORST FORUM EVER :rolleyes
Suzuki Chelly 04-19-2007, 12:09 AM Can you ride a bicycle with no problems? OK, good. Now don't touch a motorcycle again until the MSF class. They'll take it from there. No sense trynig to learn before you go to school, you just pick up bad riding habits that way.
PS: Some punctuation and spacing would help alot. Hit the "enter" key every several lines to break things up and make it easier to read.
Although it sort of does make sense if you just read between the ellipses, it's like a 12 year old rambling, taking a pause to breathe, then going on again.
Will Goes Boing 04-19-2007, 01:51 AM ^^^^ +1
It seems like almost every girl feels like they need to be some riding expert before they take the MSF course. They don't test you right away, you take a classroom session, then two full riding sessions before they test you. They'll teach you all the fundamentals with crappy 125cc bikes that you can drop all you want.
Jumping straight on a 600cc sportsbike to "learn" is IMO the stupidest thing to do. I think both mouser and this chick is in the same situation, and it shouldn't be that way because they both have boyfriends who ride, and they should know better than to put a chick that's never ridden a motorcycle before on a sportsbike. What are you guys thinking??
jlogixxgirl 04-19-2007, 08:35 AM Happens to the best of us:rolleyes :lol
and you are close to me:) Yippee!
capt211 04-19-2007, 08:56 AM I read this and blah blah blah. Has your bf/husband even posted anywhere other than the girlie section? Just a question? :scratch
Didn't you just start a thread about how you crashed your bike?
On a straight road?
I guess none of you tards have never crashed???
Oh wait, I forgot. You guys were BORN with the knowledge of how to ride.
You didn't need lessons.
jlogixxgirl 04-19-2007, 09:07 AM Damn how did I miss you guys ragging the Yamaha.....that is wrong... my man rides a Yamaha and me so STFU all of ya!
Leave the girl alone....I hate when you guys do this shit. Grow up!
punkadilly 04-19-2007, 09:33 AM Ok, just skimming through this thread . . . I honestly didn't see anything said that was that bad. Heck, everyone's been kinda mild for this place really :lol
My advice, take everything with a grain of salt and don't be over sensitive . . . once you do that, this site is an GREAT place to be ;)
BMFRaven 04-19-2007, 03:49 PM ya normally i dont go low that low and getmad off of internet stuff but i had some stuff going on and it was a place to vent . anyways i apologize for starting anything on here and saying this site is the worst . i havent really posted much anywhere due to the fact every thing i go to search people already answered . i didnt even knonw there was a girl section i just look through the post .
also fuzy gsxr , i hope you dont talk to girls out in public with boyfriends like that , it dont bother me or nothing just pointin that out .
jdkarafa 04-19-2007, 09:36 PM Ok, just skimming through this thread . . . I honestly didn't see anything said that was that bad. Heck, everyone's been kinda mild for this place really :lol

.:1k:. 04-20-2007, 12:20 AM Werd... you must be extremely hot or you guys aren't that comfortable with eachother yet. Because I wouldn't let my girlfriend ride my bike and even if I did... and she dropped it; I would slay her. :cursing
LOL I wouldnt "slay" her, but shes definately going to have to pay for it some way..... maybe a word that rhymms with slay would suffice....:rolleyes
At least you didnt get hurt:)
SexyGsxr600-04 04-21-2007, 07:40 AM Damn how did I miss you guys ragging the Yamaha.....that is wrong... my man rides a Yamaha and me so STFU all of ya!

Thanks and I heard that they have a bike night on Weds. nights out in G-ville..how is it? We have one in Ocala on Thurs. nights but its nothing to brag about lol and we just started going on Mon. nights to the one out in leesburg, theres not many bikes out there yet but they give out awards and stuff so thats pretty cool.
Gixxer1000Girly 04-21-2007, 10:58 AM Your best bet is to buy a used bike ride for a year or so then by something new...
nitrosportman 04-21-2007, 09:23 PM i always like to hear about crashes and stick it in the back of my mind for future reference as what no to do
but damn i wish my wife would just get near my bike she wont even sit on it for pics kinda bums me out
glad your okay bikes can be fixed... unkind words cannot!
MotoGQ 04-21-2007, 11:07 PM Why is your boyfriend teaching you on a 600 supersport? You forgot to pull in the clutch this time. What if you forget to not panic & go WOT next time & slam into something. Not a very intelligent decision on your boyfriends part. If neither one of you have the funds to get a used 125 or 250, you should wait for MSF to swing your leg over a bike.
Ghostrydr600 04-21-2007, 11:14 PM exactly we can back and fourth all day but its the rider . and it seems its the same ones tlaking the shit . so if you aint got nothing good to say or helpful keep your mouth shut , i hate the forum bullshit and this site has got to be the worst i ever been on .
then get the fuck off bigmouth..dunno why your here..u dont own a gixxer anyway:scratch
MotoGQ 04-21-2007, 11:23 PM also fuzy gsxr , i hope you dont talk to girls out in public with boyfriends like that , it dont bother me or nothing just pointin that out .
:scratch Obviously it does. Otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it.
Dude, if you're this bad now with the attention she's getting, you're really gonna dislike it when she's riding around on her own bike. She's gonna get so many guys oggling at her & beleive me, she will get a lot worse comments than the ones on this forum. Quit being so insecure. This is a forum. Everybody's gonna have an opinion. Some you will like, some you may not so shill the fuck out!:hammer
MotoGQ 04-21-2007, 11:36 PM Hes practically my husband and hes only trying to help me and make sure that im gonna be safe
He's making it safe by having you learn on a GSXR 600? Ooookaaay!!
he is defending me because some of you dickheads pissed me off with this
Not all of us are gonna hump your leg. Only reason why some are being nice about it is because you're a girl. If a dude came on this board & told everyone that he's never been on a bike & is learning on a 600ss & dropped it, he would be getting flamed.
and there is such a thing as beauty and brains sucks some of you guys haven't met a girl like that yet.
Don't flatter yourself. I don't see where the brains come in to play if you're attempting to learn on a 600 before taking MSF. As far as beauty, that's subjective but as long as you feel beautiful, that's all that should matter.

Ride. 04-22-2007, 02:04 PM There's at least 2 people in this thread that need to maybe get the fuck off this forum.
Don't bitch that this site is supposed to be about learning when you're referring to "learning how to ride". This site IS all about learning; learning to improve your skills, improve your bike, work on your bike, accessorize your bike, etc. But this is gixxer.com, a high performance sportbike forum. It is NOT meant to be filled with learning how to ride bullshit. The learning how to ride should have been done in an MSF course, and on more noob friendly motorcycles BEFORE coming to a sportbike forum and proclaiming what a dumbass you are, and how retarded your "support" team is.
There's nothing at all intelligent about getting a brand new, race bike just like the pros ride, and proclaiming that its OK because you're smart, even though you've never rode before. Male or female, stupid is stupid.
And I remember seeing this thread about a week ago:
Sounds like my boyfriend and I, he just got his bike and I've been riding a little longer than him and I just enjoy the hell outta of it...so when he heard I wanted my own he was over-joyed that we could both have something that we enjoyed so much in common but hes already taken the class and got his endorsement and Im actually taking mine end of this month and I know that the only thing that makes me feel confident is how much he wants to help and give me tips. Tell her good luck thu!!
:scratch
That thread and this one pretty much contradict each other as to what is going on. This girl has been riding a little longer than her boyfriend, yet her boyfriend is teaching her how to ride? On top of that, we got one noob teaching another? :hammer
Some people obviously need more professional help than others. :rolleyes
Chillywater 04-22-2007, 04:28 PM :scratch

nice catch...it makes the original poster and her boyfriend look that much more clueless...one noob teaching another lol:lol
and I like how this girls boyfriend claims his R6 is better than a GSX-R and compares AMA racing and all that, when in his sig he listed that he had lowered, strapped, and stretched the damn thing 9 inch's.. with that crap done to the suspension and wheelbase, how in the hell could it compete with a stock gix, or anything else for that matter after ruining the turning capabilities like that:shifty
Ride. 04-22-2007, 05:46 PM :scratch ...and another...
Hey everyone, Im new to this site. I've been ridin passenger for a while now with my boyfriend and he just recently got a bike and we are very happy to have something so much in common. My bike 07 Gsxr 600 is on order because I haven't taken my basic rider course yet that I want to take mainly to get my rider endorsement lol and Im using this month to get more experience and practice also...but glad to have joined the site I would love to learn lots about my bike and how it compares to an 06 R6 lol so I could show my boyfriend up hahaha
Boyfriend just recently got a bike, but have been riding passenger for a while.
Passenger while you're new. :hammer
Lowering your R6, and saying its better than a GSXR. :hammer
Letting your girlfriend who has no riding experience ride your "super fast superbike". :hammer
I think Mouser changed her screen name. :squid
Chillywater 04-22-2007, 05:52 PM I think Mouser changed her screen name. :squid
HAHAHA this is starting to sound just like that clown Mouser....and I'm wondering why this girl thinks its cool to ride as a passenger with some noob who just got his new Supersport race bike with lights...that seems like a stupid and dangerous thing to do:wacko
I just hope they both wear gear, because clueless people like this have very good chances of crashing no matter how good they think they are
BMFRaven 04-22-2007, 10:35 PM haha she means shes rode passenger longer then ive rode which she was wrong . i learned on a 600rr about 2 years ago and have been riding since . i recently got my own bike because my buddy sold his cbr i rode . he had got his dads zx10 and the cbr jus sat and he wasnt sure if he wanted to make it a track bike or not so i just rode it around . it had insurance if i was to mess it up and i have money . i caught her on that post too but she didnt wanna go and change it
alsoo i know tonssss of people that start on these bikes . so she made a mistake . did u ever go read about other human beings fucking up . and ill gladly get off this forum . you must have not read where i said im on here to learn about her bike since ill be working on it and i want a gsxr1000 for my next bike so i thought why not learn like these sites are created for .
and another thing i see plenty of people in here who dont own gsxr's in there info so why am i any different .
and i love people who live states away and talk shit online . im not insecure i just dont like people to think they slide something by me so anytime someone runs there mouth i make sure they know im aware of it and how i feel .
and another thing i did strecth my bike . i can bring it back to stock when im ready for corners . as of now everyone i ride with has stretched 600's and i plan on beatin them all and enjoying it . you act like once you make a change to a bike you cant bring it back .
anyways for everyone angry im sorry it got to you so bad .
ripvanwinkle 04-23-2007, 08:16 AM <snip>i want a gsxr1000 for my next bike so i thought why not learn like these sites are created for .
... i plan on beatin them all and enjoying it .
<snip>
be careful - the liter bikes are insanely fast.
i see too many red flags regarding your future.
it is very hard to stop at extreme speeds !
unless you plan on beating them on the track...
GSX-R_JJ 04-23-2007, 09:16 AM and another thing i did strecth my bike . i can bring it back to stock when im ready for corners . as of now everyone i ride with has stretched 600's and i plan on beatin them all and enjoying it . you act like once you make a change to a bike you cant bring it back .
"When i'm ready for corners"?:scratch But you are going to try and teach someone else how to ride?:hammer Sounds like you can barely ride yourself. There is more to riding than whacking the throttle open down a straight. Any moron with a wrist can do that. Why the hell would anyone stretch a 600 anyway? Its not Busa or ZX-14.
BTW the R6:piss forum is that way ------->

floriduh- :lol
seriously, if i were you, i'd get a used bike... like an '01 or '02. you are going to drop it (at the very least). it will be less expensive to fix.
especially when you start riding the corners (if there are any in floriduh). if you push the envelope long enough you will push it too far. look at the pros, they wreck all the time.
get a used bike, take the money you save and get a leather suit, proper gloves, boots, and helmet. you will need them.
jlogixxgirl 04-24-2007, 08:17 AM Thanks and I heard that they have a bike night on Weds. nights out in G-ville..how is it? We have one in Ocala on Thurs. nights but its nothing to brag about lol and we just started going on Mon. nights to the one out in leesburg, theres not many bikes out there yet but they give out awards and stuff so thats pretty cool.
I have not been in awhile but my husband has hit it all the time. It is at Gator Dockside on Newberry Road!
Gix-R-Mrs 04-24-2007, 09:58 AM Just for the record my boyfriend and I have been together for 2 yrs now and if he really didn't want me on his bike he wouldn't have told me he wanted to help and be such a big part of me learning no offense...why do guys always have to make gurls feel like shit about when they make a mistake like you guys are perfect, I already beat myself up enough about it but thanks!
My hubby is the same way...You are a lucky woman. It's great to have a spouse that takes interest in sharing things that you can both enjoy, and is more concerned about you than anything else! As far as the other ones...don't worry about their remarks...we puish ourselves enough for our mistakes. My hubby just got a new 750, and I'm terrified of dropping it...but if (when) I do, I know his first concern will be for me...he'll cry about his bike later.
Hold on to that guy, you'll have a lot of fun together.

How can you possibly say your bf/husband care for you when he tries to put you on a 100hp (in your case 125hp) sports bike right off the bat?? Some guys are freakin retarded, if they can they'd want their girlfriends to like to play foot ball too but most chicks don't like football..... bikes are a different story; all chicks dig it.
Of course most guys are going to want their girlfriends to ride with them. We're not out there to TRY to make you girls feel like shit, we're just speaking the truth, and the truth hurts. Personally I would never let my gf/spouse touch a bike, heck I even refused to give my ex a ride when I got my bike. Because I know how dangerous riding is and I don't think I could live on knowing that I got my gf killed.
Please do not try to learn on your husband's new 750. I'm sure he loves you and cares about you, but if he lets you ride it he's absolutely clueless.

It's not that we are making her feel like shit. We are just trying to make her understand the dangers in starting off on a supersport but they both keep coming back with contradicting replies.
When you drop your husbands bike, you may be going 60+ mph because you paniced & twisted the throttle too much. It only takes a couple of seconds to get there on these bikes. If you think your husband cares about you because he's trying to teach you on his 750, he's being careless. I'm sure he has good intentions but please take the MSF first if you haven't do so already or learn on a much more forgiving bike. NOT a supersport.
MotoGQ 04-24-2007, 06:41 PM Why the hell did you stretch an R6? Do you have a turbo on it that will cause it to wheelie thru all the gears? You just made the bike heavier & you can drag a 600 just fine without it being stretched. You will probably be quicker without it being extended. Are you just trying to fit in the stretched crowd? What is your purpose of stretching it?
ripvanwinkle 04-24-2007, 06:52 PM really, i saw a turbo two stroke scooter in the web! revved to some crazy rpm. you know they race trucks, lawnmowers, anything with a motor. stretched 600? probably seemed like a good idea at the time...:scratch

I learned on both, an ex500 and fzr600...the fzr isn't quite as brutal as other 600's, but it can still bite ya if not careful. The ex500 is probly the most forgiving bike i've ever thrown a leg over! You'll be able to wring it's neck after no time...hell i could out corner some guys on supersport 600's on the ex500!
However the fzr is also an impressive bike, and not that bad for a first i don't think..but it's really up to you in the end. The reason I wouldn't want an ex250 is because you can get used to highway speeds as good as you can on the 500 or a 600...it strains a lot more once it's at higher speeds...good luck:cheers

vtjballeng 04-26-2007, 12:18 AM 1) Getting a new GSXR 600 for a first bike and to learn with is like getting an F-16 to learn to fly. It might work for a select group of people but requires a high level of intensity and knowledgeable trainers and/or common sense and restraint. Otherwise practice using your parachute and be ready to write off your investment. The first elements of motorcycle control should not be performed on a vehicle that can accidentally outrun a 911 twin turbo or Corvette. Put another way, the first elements of motorcycle control should not be performed on a vehicle with braking and acceleration sufficient to flip itself over in both directions.
My girlfriend is learning to ride and she has a pre-dropped model so she won't feel bad if she does accidentally drop it due to beginners balance/mistakes. She has ridden on my sportbikes with me and has sat on my gsxr 600 with a strong desire to ride but I have absolutely grilled her on the subject of when she can actually ride it. She needs to have LOTS of hours and MILES on an appropriate learning bike to master motorcycle control technique before she can hop on the gsxr 600. This is not specific to her, if my brother chose to learn to ride he would receive the exact same treatment. So, despite the boyfriend's seemingly good intentions and the seemingly good intentions of the poster at the beginning of this thread I would encourage both of you to spend a lot more time learning and mastering your craft before setting her down in the seat of a vehicle no less insane than a $65000 supercar (without traction control and missing two tires).
2) A used bike or TONS of great bikes like ninja 500 katana 600, fzr 600 etc are excellent learning bikes which you can grow with.
3) Repetition is a key to learning. Use that clutch all the time when learning... that is how to bail and protect yourself. Most learning accidents I have seen have related to misuse of the controls and nearly all would be solved by pulling in the clutch lever. Balance control, hitting that first patch of gravel, overcoming paralyzing fear when entering a corner too hot and instead staying loose and in control... are all skills that have to be understood first then implemented and practiced.
4) I see a lot of people touting MSF as the beginning of riding/learning. I disagree with this. For primarily financial reasons (MSF is backed by motorcycle manufacturers and is actively pursuing a monopoly on teaching material) MSF has dumbed down its courses and american standards of motorcycle education are at BEST poor (as is driver education). With that said, MSF is often the best available option and lots of superb instructors go that extra mile with their time and material.
However, learning before the MSF course or perhaps never taking the MSF course is an option. Riding and learning in the dirt is a good idea as you learn the fundamentals but riding on the street is certainly a skill on its own. When initially learning, I read as much as I could and spent HUNDREDS of hours in a closed test lot riding a beaten katana testing emergency braking, cornering techniques, and general motorcycle technique BEFORE ever hitting a live road with todays very dangerous drivers. I spent some time in the dirt and at track days to better my riding and for fun. I would highly encourage new riders to fundamentally master every control on their motorcycle before hitting the street. If that means you have to start and stop 5,000 times in a parking lot and burn up a clutch, then so be it. It is cheaper than your life and cheaper than the bike. The VAST majority of motorcyclists I meet on sportbikes and cruisers never seek to master their own skills or actively pursue improved riding technique (touring riders being an exception in my observation). Motorcycles are not cars, they are not simply something you hop on mindlessly and use to get from point A to point B. Motorcycle riding requires a basic level of control and once that is acheived constant and dedicated attention to maintain safety on the road.
The bottom line is take it slow and understand every step. Read books on the subject. Motorcycle Consumer News, Sport Rider and Motorcyclist all now contain a riding hints or techniques section though Motorcycle Consumer News is by far the most comprehensive and educational. Falling down due to a lack of clutch control should be a strong message to master that skill and many others. Since you have adequate $$ to pick up a brand new GSXR 600, perhaps you can spare some money for a cheap used bike to spend a few thousand miles on learning every element of motorcycle control before you get your (as described by your boyfriend) beautiful self on that gsxr.
Wear full gear. I find guys tend to ignore this because many take the "chicks dig scars" mentality but women are far more attentive to this simple fact. Fall at just 25mph on some nice choppy asphalt and your bikini wearing days will be forever changed IF you are not wearing gear.

I know dude! :cheers Hey, if ya want since this fuckstick is such a pro and knows all about the precise moments that the PC kicks in, maybe I can get him to provide a rider's safety instructional manual for the rest of us who "probably don't know what that is". :spit bwwwwwahahahahahahahahahahaha :lol
detonator2 04-26-2007, 11:07 AM He's making it safe by having you learn on a GSXR 600? Ooookaaay!!
Not all of us are gonna hump your leg. Only reason why some are being nice about it is because you're a girl. If a dude came on this board & told everyone that he's never been on a bike & is learning on a 600ss & dropped it, he would be getting flamed.
Don't flatter yourself. I don't see where the brains come in to play if you're attempting to learn on a 600 before taking MSF. As far as beauty, that's subjective but as long as you feel beautiful, that's all that should matter.
Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be
And I can fly higher than an eagle
Cause you are the wind beneath my wings....
Wait, that sounded really gay, but good on ya.
phanatic 04-26-2007, 06:40 PM Yup, you need to take the MSF course. They'll teach you all about that fun stuff and the best part is you can drop their bikes. (I did and I never got a bill).
Ya, it's ok to drop the bike as long as it's not during the final test. I had a lady in my class drop hers during the braking test and it was an automatic fail - she had to park her bike, go home, and didn't get her certificate. I felt bad for her. Actually, that was only one of three drops during the 2 days of riding... one of my buddies dropped his during an exercise and I hopped off my bike to grab my camera and snap some pics of him on the ground:lol
(it was low speed and we all knew he was ok...)
GSX-R_JJ 04-26-2007, 08:51 PM I never understood why someone who doesnt even have their license would go spend thousands of dollars on a brand new bike but I see it all the time. I know its crazy easy to pass but still what if you fail the test?
detonator2 04-26-2007, 10:40 PM A girl in my MSF class made fun of me for dropping it (on the figure 8) then she went and dropped hers. I think she did it on purpose.

Sassy Chassis 04-28-2007, 10:10 AM I never understood why someone who doesnt even have their license would go spend thousands of dollars on a brand new bike but I see it all the time.
Yeah...it happens. I'm guessing some people have more disposable income and can afford to buy new all the time and not worry if/when their stuff gets crashed. :shifty Personally, I like knowing that my nice USED bikes already have a couple of scratches here and there...makes it not so bad if I accidentally dump it over in the driveway. Someday, when I have been riding for a few years at least, I may get a brand new something...but right now it's all about learning, practicing, learning, doing a track day or two or three, practicing and last, but not least, more practice!
cnlevo 05-02-2007, 01:41 AM hahah, same thing happened to my girl. No biggy really. I just ran over and made sure she was ok and laughed it off with her.
I never hopped on the bike with her. I just let her release the clutch with no gas and get it going while I walked/ran next to her for about 2 minutes...then she got the hang of it. I think she got the "hang of it" too quick and got too much confidence. She got nervous because there was another car creeping around in the parking lot we were practicing in at 1:00 in the morning. She had road the bike around her neighborhood about 10 times so I figured it was time for her to try it somewhere else before I sent her out on the street. The car started creeping and she got nervous and went to slow down and squeezed the brake AND the gas :X She was only going about 5 miles an hour but it kicked left and then right and hit the ground. It was the longest 5 second fall i'd ever seen, lol. I just saw her tuck and roll off of it...
Either way..the bike is fine and so is she. She's getting a lot better....and besides...theirs nothing sexier then watching your girl learn to ride your bike !!! HAHAH

OrangeGixxer 05-04-2007, 08:20 PM So today the boyfriend decided he was gonna give me some more lessons on the bike before I take my endorsement class at the college overall I think I learned alot about clutch and throttle response and picked up on some hints he gave....he actually got on the back and would take off and then let me pick up....so as he was washing my car lol and letting me practice a little bit on my own he decided he thought it was time I give it a go on my own...iffy I figured I would give it a shot, so I held the clutch in poped it in gear and eased into it not wanting to actually give it enough throttle at first to get me going because of course it was my first time taking off on my own well I got going actually a little too close to a mail box for my likings lol so I grabbed the front brake not knowing I needed to hold the clutch down first and when I went to put my feet down started to lean to the left and too be honest 115Ibs Vs.
So How is the riding going? Did you go take the class? I will admit I dropped my bike. I was in my own driveway when it happened. It was fall the first year I owned my bike and there were wet leaves on the drive and I hit the brake and dumped it over.:( You learn from your mistakes!
SexyGsxr600-04 05-06-2007, 07:06 PM The riding is going great so far, I really haven't responded to anything on this site anymore cause so many people seem to want to start stuff but whatever.
I took the MSF Course like I said I was going to and did great and got my endorsement. My friends and family have encouraged me to wait another month until my 21st birthday because they are going to help me out and put a decent down payment on it for me as my birthday present. :)

Doesn't matter what we say.... the fact is most girls buy bikes because they think it's HOT.... they could care less about the riding part. As long as they can get the bike down the block to their local star bucks that's all they really need.
We don't know her.... if she crashes and gets hurt or worse; what does it matter to you and me? I think she expected praises and support, but anybody with the least bit common sense will know they won't get that from strangers that can freely express themselves bluntly behind a computer screen. And especially not after hearing about the R6 dropping incident.

Bro I started on a 600 had no problems, you will drop a bike sooner or later. Most of the time you dont remember shit till you do it the wrong way anyways.
Fuck I forgot to pull the clutch in when I first pulled the bike out this season. Shit happens.
I would rather buy a bike I will have for a while then by an outdated 250 that im going to get rid of in a month and not even make back the money I spent on it.
Say you lose a $1000 on the re-sell of that 250 you bought. Fuck then you're out a grand when you could have gotten a GSXR 600 refine how you ride and if you drop it use that $1000 to fix whats scratched.
Im pretty sure she gets enough preaching to her done by her family and boyfriend, she really doesnt need you to add to it. She came her to tell her story and learn about the bike she is going to get, not to be harrassed because of the bike she is buying.

chris1985 05-07-2007, 02:10 PM Bro I started on a 600 had no problems, you will drop a bike sooner or later. Most of the time you dont remember shit till you do it the wrong way anyways.
Fuck I forgot to pull the clutch in when I first pulled the bike out this season. Shit happens.
I would rather buy a bike I will have for a while then by an outdated 250 that im going to get rid of in a month and not even make back the money I spent on it.

can you actually read??? I said alot of people start on 600's and are fine, and some arent.. To be honest all the chicks i know who want a bike or have a bike just want one to get noticed and look hot.. Im not saying thats why this girl wants one.. But im willing to bet most chicks buy bikes to look cool and hot...I know alot of chicks who buy brand new bikes, take them out for the first time drop the bike, park it in their garage and thats where it stays.....If this girl actually wants to ride for the joy and because she loves it im all for it...Just be prepared to drop/trash your new bike....its going to happen

wow...talk about leg humper... If this was a guy telling this story, this guy's post would look something like this...
hey retard,
dont get a new bike for your first bike...you already dropped an r6, what makes you think your not going to drop your gixxer?? If you get a new bike your going to drop it.. Get a 250 and learn on that

dude i'm sure she's read enough "don't get a new bike for a first bike stories"
i'm just trying to keep the sport positive. we have enough negative comments,
egos and attitude on this forum. besides, one more rider means one less cage on the road.
thru my experience women are better riders than men.
they are more disciplined and they take less risks.

I SO do not agree with that statement....
They're not disciplined..... they're scared.
They take less risks, but they're riskier riders.
ant f 05-07-2007, 10:03 PM Either way..the bike is fine and so is she. She's getting a lot better....and besides...theirs nothing sexier then watching your girl learn to ride your bike !!! HAHAH
until you break up and are just left with the scratches and bent bits:lol :lol :lol
ant f 05-07-2007, 10:26 PM The riding is going great so far, I really haven't responded to anything on this site anymore cause so many people seem to want to start stuff but whatever.
I took the MSF Course like I said I was going to and did great and got my endorsement. My friends and family have encouraged me to wait another month until my 21st birthday because they are going to help me out and put a decent down payment on it for me as my birthday present. :)
good on you, have fun with the new bike!!!:punk
Slyder27 05-10-2007, 09:08 AM excellent post. I enjoyed reading it a lot.
I agree with the start small stay in the dirt thing. I started in the dirt and having done so, the experience I gained has saved my back end numerous times on the street. I've ridden my street bikes through stuff that many many people would have crashed on. Not touting my own horn, but if you can ride the hell out of a dirtbike, you'll be that much better on the street. You'll know how to control the bike in ways that rarely ever happen on the street.
Unfortunately once peoples minds are made up, you'll have better luck talking to a brick wall (such as in this case)
I feel bad for this girls friends and family. If only they knew what they were supporting and helping her buy. Be happy I'm not your friend, because I'd tell you straight up...you're making a big mistake. I'd not support it and I certainly wouldn't help you buy it.
hell, I'm all up for learning in the dirt, and I once saw an inexperienced girl sitting on an RM125, as someone was giving her instructions on how to ride it... and I reamed her and that someone else out. I was happy, I talked sense into both and she didn't ride it.
Could this girl buy a K7 600 and never have any problems? Of course. she may never drop it, or get into an accident. But hey, it's not a beginners bike. The idiot that sells it to her is just that.
Sorry, but if you came to me with your experience level, I'd tell you it wasn't forsale.
Blitzkrieg 05-10-2007, 01:16 PM A girl in my MSF class made fun of me for dropping it (on the figure 8) then she went and dropped hers. I think she did it on purpose.
Haha, classic. Makes you want to carry a piece of chalk to the MSF course, so when someone drops you can quickly run over and "chalkline" their bike. I'm sure that would be good for a few chuckles.
On a related note, a good friend of mine bought his wife a dirt bike a couple years ago so she could tag along when the boys went riding. Last year, my friend went to all the same races as the previous few years, but he didn't race. He was too busy taking care of his wife's bike, helping her prepare for the race and such, as she ended up taking 1st and 2nd for the season in the two race series she entered. When she decided she wanted to start riding on the street, she all but begged him to ride his z1000. The first time she dropped it (quite some time after she started riding), that became her bike and he bought a new z1000. Now when she rides with us on the street we never have to wait for her. Not that I would recommend starting on a litrebike of any type, but she made the best of it.
Have fun on your MSF course. Pay attention, learn, and have fun.
Red Bull 05-10-2007, 03:49 PM it's ok girl. before 1 bought my '07 gixxer, i started out on a ninja 250 and dropped it all the time, so I think that's something we've all experienced...well most of us anyway. keep at it. glad u aren't getting discouraged
HARV3Y 05-21-2007, 12:17 AM Gosai and Will Goes Boing, both of your comments are stupid. It's down to the individual riders! I've seen boys on cibby 250's that poo thier pants on the road and I've seen girls on litre bikes that tear up the road dragging knees around every corner.... and I've seen the exact opposite!
Ride. 05-21-2007, 09:19 AM Gosai and Will Goes Boing, both of your comments are stupid. It's down to the individual riders! You're an asshat.
Let me guess. The brand new 600 is your first bike?

How do you think those girls got to where they're at? Not by jumping right onto a brand new liter bike with no experience. Thanks for proving the point of starting with the proper bike. ;)
This thread resurrection rocks! :punk
HARV3Y 05-21-2007, 06:39 PM Actually no I had a GS500 for my first bike, which is the bike everyone has to ride during their tests. She's ridden other bikes before, she's stated that. So now even though she's ridden other bikes up to 650 cc she has to log a certain number of hours to satisfy YOU? pfft
You weren't even referring your comment to the lady that asked the question it was a comment in general!
*passes the asshat back to it's rightful owner av_fan*
JackWhack 05-26-2007, 10:57 PM at least he trusts you to ride the bike! the guy i am talking to threatens me when i carry his helmet that if i drop it i die, lol

That's because if you drop it once the helmet is pretty much done for. A drop will compromise the structural integrity of the shell. Which means he has to throw it away.
If someone dropped my $450 helmet I would kill him/her too :cool

+1, You can't just drop a helmet and it be "no big deal".
I know a guy that just tosses his helmet around like it's nothin:hammer (it is like the absolute cheapest piece of shit Fulmer black full faced lid you can get but still). I've told him he's a complete fucking idiot so many times that I really don't give a shit anymore, he thinks he's invincible or some shit. He might have to learn the hard way he's not.:wacko
If my Arai gets a scratch on it, I start shopping for new helmets. Not because I need my lid to be nice and pretty, but because my head is worth a lot to me and I'm not going to take any chances.

Ironically his idiocy may not be very harmful. Most of the cheap helmets are ABS/PC plastic and "give" and bounce back with the ability to be cycled often. This depends upon the grade of plastic used, how hard it is dropped, etc. Fiberglass and composite helmets have very little "give" to them and will instead develop fractures in the composite structure. Again damage depends upon the drop height and many other factors. The plastic is usually a homogenous material (or nearly so) such that an inspection can be performed after a drop whereas fiberglass is heterogenous mix which cannot be easily be inspected for damage after a drop.
With that said, I treat my helmets as if they are delicate crystal and choose BSI/ECE helmets when and if I can. My least expensive helmets that I let people borrow or use are ABS/PC plastic.

True you can trash a helmet by dropping it... but it is still an object and if treats you like that and you are just talking... hmmmm
I dunno about that...
I know tons of ppl that have dropped someone's helmet accidently because they needed to move their bike...and no drama... but go figure.
ripvanwinkle 06-01-2007, 07:36 PM well he never explained that to me, now i know i would have to die :p

xwordsdontexistx 06-08-2007, 01:06 PM if you dropped my helmet little miss j, youd get a firm one across the backside and like every minute of it~!
RUBZERK 06-23-2007, 08:08 PM This makes me scared to teach my wife, one good thing is shes useing my old bike.
tuccatucca 06-25-2007, 12:46 PM Doesn't matter what we say.... the fact is most girls buy bikes because they think it's HOT.... they could care less about the riding part. As long as they can get the bike down the block to their local star bucks that's all they really need.
Gotta say this guy is bang on. Some people want style over safety, this is common in both genders tho.
Addressing the "I forgot to put in the clutch" comment I feel obligated to respond, if you "forgot" as in you were having to actively think about when and how to pull it in, then that is simply TOO SLOW. Go ride a dirt bike for hours to which point clutching and braking becomes as automatic as breathing, and consider the cost of your dirt bike and time spent on it as cheap insurance for your riding life on the street. You cannot "think" about using controls while riding on the street, you have too much to focus on, balance - the next curve, lane position, is their gravel there or whatever.
Hey, I started on an '02 600 myself, been riding about 4yrs now - BUT I rode beater dirt bikes since I could walk, 80's, 200's, lots, AND took the MSF. I have to honestly say that my most valuable riding experience was on dirt, simply because it allows you to make mistakes, to drop the bike, and if you're wearing a decent helmet you'll probably just get dirty. No harm done, and lose surface riding is challenging and fun. You'll learn develop those panic moments into automatic reactions that will save your ass when you would otherwise bail.
To the OP Good luck! Bikes are fun and we all know there's nothing better then a hottie on a GIX... but consider what we're saying. It's not flaming, its sharing experience. I'm not your mom and I rip it on my bike as much as the next guy, but when you are learning you better take it easy and go slow.
Btw My GF wants to ride too, I'm going to teach her... on a SWEET old 81 Honda XR200 :cheers
Deuceakc 06-27-2007, 11:58 PM START OUT ON A DIRT BIKE WHEN YOU GRADUATE THAT THEN YOU LADIES MIGHT BE READY TO RIDE A ROCKET~^o my girl keeps on beggin me to teach her to ride but i think shes CRAZY. lol.
GSX-R_JJ 06-28-2007, 09:44 AM How is this thread still alive?!?!?!
BakerR600 07-01-2007, 10:49 PM go ahead, start on a 600... but be aware your pretty face is all you got. if you lose that, then you have nothing going for you...
:lol
GixxerJJ 07-11-2007, 02:38 PM seee the true story is ............. the r6 unleashed the furyyy under her wrist !!! .
haha. cause we all know how the yammy r6's are known for that low end torque :lol
My girlfriend has a 06 r6 as well. She dropped it because of the same damn reason. she is about 5"8 and still has to "tippy toe"
So im going to lower it about 2 inchs for her.
K6racer 08-02-2007, 06:21 PM I'll give you my input l8tr. :biggrin
knock it out bro!!!
K6racer 08-02-2007, 06:57 PM How old is this guy and his girl? Are they even old enough to buy beer yet?
I'm going to have to say that age & maturity have a lot to do with how & why you ride. I'd say that these younger girls (18-22), or so, get these bikes to look cool, or sexy, or whatever. Guys do the same thing. 18 year olds that have never ridden a motorcycle of any sort, buying bikes because they are faster than cars and whatever other stupid shit they come up with. Hell, both guys and girls at this age suck at driving cars, let alone bikes!! Not all, but most. On the other hand, some of us were born with NOS in our blood... the true gear head!! I don't know how old either of these two are, my guess would be about 19, or 20.
The one thing that they didn't teach me in the MSF course was that you have to be TOTALLY, 100% concentrated on the task at hand... controlling the bike. I already knew this before the class because I have been riding bikes since I was in junior high, I'm 37 now. You can't EVER relax while riding a bike. Every single time I ride, some asshat does something, that if I was too relaxed and not in the zone, I could have seriously injured, or killed myself. I ride like everyone is out to kill me... Houston traffic is fucking crazy!!
I say this because the older you get, the more mature you are, and the more you will concentrate on riding the bike. It's nothing like driving a car, not even close. Accidents usually happen because someone wasn't paying attention to what they should have and did something stupid!
Forgetting to pull the clutch in means that this girl was NOT focused on what she was doing. I say she needs to learn the basics of driving a 5 speed car first. Get the basics down. Learn how to use the clutch, gas, brake, etc. You forget to clutch it in a car, no biggie... it stalls. Do it on a bike, chances are that you're going DOWN and could really hurt yourself & the machine!! If not in a car, certainly on a dirt bike first.
Anyway, that my .02 cents worth!!
There are people who can do more than one thing at once, and then there are those that can't.
gotgixers 08-03-2007, 03:21 AM It was just a Yamaha. ;)
Exactly, :sleepno big deal.Glad you were alright. But don't drop your gixxer!!!!That would be :crying
stihlalive06 08-08-2007, 04:44 PM big ups to ya, atleast youre ridin, and ya got back up, my girl hates my bike n wants nothin to do wit it, {what do i have to do to change that?}youll get the hang of it
Grandevil 08-08-2007, 04:49 PM Forgive me for saying it...but maybe you shouldn't get a BRAND new bike. Why not get one a couple years older while you're still new at it? And then trade it in after a year or so of experience?
Flounder 08-09-2007, 08:31 AM at least he trusts you to ride the bike! the guy i am talking to threatens me when i carry his helmet that if i drop it i die, lol
I fully support his decision to remove you from the gene pool for dropping his helmet.. I may have to come down there myself just to back him up. ... :lol
POPPINDATCLUTHONYA 09-13-2007, 10:06 PM i could of swore this was i gixxer fourm.....* cough _raven_ cough*
BlkGrl750 09-17-2007, 01:53 AM Glad you got the frame sliders. Don't stress about dropping the bike cause it happens. I dropped mine the first day I rode it too. I wasn't moving and my husband was with me thank God. After that experience my confidence in my riding skills was low. So I knew I had to get back on it and try again. Once you get that confidence with your bike you'll be good to go. Consider lowering and get comfortable with your own bike. My husband laughed at me too now looking back it was kinda funny:) There's a first time for everything right?
dfine 09-17-2007, 06:13 AM this thread is so useless.
the OP's say they're here to learn, but they take none of the advice and opinions given here seriously. If you allready think you know it all and can't do anything wrong, then why come here in the first place?? I think they're just showing off, maybe they don't even have bikes...
Here's my take on things. My gf wants to learn too and get her own bike. Well, we're looking at a CBR 125 or a Yami YBR 125. That's plenty enough for her to learn on, besides, she's doesn't even want something bigger. We'll go ride together. It does not matter i'm on a 1000 and she's on a 125. We ride together.
Hope we don't see one of you guys on the news, as another blood stain on the road...
learning on a 120hp GSXR.... :rolleyes
be safe

jimguyer 02-09-2008, 01:04 PM Be safe and take that course. I learned to ride (back in 1972) on a honda 350 in a big parking lot. Nothing to hit, and the bike was not that heavy. That was a good move....learning where there is risk of hitting anything and therefore having to do a panic maneuver before you even know how to do the basics really was probably a mistake. Glad no damage to you! Good luck, have fun.
gxr6chk 02-11-2008, 12:10 AM Hey are you still around? I'd like to know how ur learning is comming.
Yeah I've dropped mine...hence the signature. Life goes on. It's all in the name of learning.
checkmate259 02-11-2008, 01:06 PM my man rides a Yamaha and me so STFU all of ya!
How cute to come to his bike's defense, considering you and the bike have so much in common, you both being ridden and all. You have such self respect. You should take your own advice.

What, you have a problem with someone challenging her line of BS? Like a new thread on male flatulence is of any relevance? The topic is disgusting, inappropriate and of no relevance on this site. This is what this woman discusses on a biking forum. Gee, perhaps I'll start a new section called Guys Only and we can talk about PMS and fishsticks.
jlogixxgirl 02-11-2008, 05:36 PM Which thread is this :confused I have not started any threads about men cause I HATE them:biggrin I think you have me confused with huh gxr6chk? I have no idea why you hate me but keep your nasty remarks to yourself please. You quote something from a year ago to talk smack to me about??? Why?

00rngr 02-15-2008, 09:11 AM Werd... you must be extremely hot or you guys aren't that comfortable with eachother yet. Because I wouldn't let my girlfriend ride my bike and even if I did... and she dropped it; I would slay her. :cursing
:lol im about to dig a hole! Oneday i asked the GF to move the bike for a second bc i was doing something. well i seen her struggling (bike 400+-her 95-100) so i was like you ok ill get it if you cant, "no i got it", turned around to continue what i was doing and BAM BAM "ouch". OMFG my white and silver baby was on the ground! Went over to get the bike up and was looking over the bike after i got it up and forgot to ask if she was ok :lol i still hear it 2 years later. She did mess the slider up had to get a new one, broke clutch lever (which was on back order for say bout 3-4 months), was right when they came out. i was mad but couldnt get mad. The thing tha pised me off though i literally just got out of my mouth, are you sure you can get it? immeditely after i turned around it was on the ground.
granted i lover her but it wasnt intentional to check on the bike before her! :monkeyface
Zimm11 02-15-2008, 01:47 PM you guys must have scared them away. :nono they remind me of me and my girl with the dropping of my bike...lets hear how the class went if your still around...
Grandevil 02-15-2008, 02:05 PM I still don't understand why girls feel the need to already know how to ride before taking the MSF course. YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO RIDE BEFORE YOU TAKE IT!!
It's better you learn and drop their shitty bikes rather than your own.
It's not only girls Will. Don't pull the gender card out.
02GSXXR 02-16-2008, 10:18 PM Take your time stated in a few post before you dont need to be an expert when attending the MSF bc you may show up with bad habits and their hard to break when your use to one style of riding cause thats all you know..
as you tryin to learn to ride.. am slowly trying to get my girl into learnin how to ride and i refuse to let her learn on a 600cc but i do know somebody who willing to let her ride his sons 80cc dirtbike so if u know someone with a dirtbike then try that for a day youll have a better time and wont have fear about dropping your b/f bike on the street
other than that goodluck and wear your gear and always have fun
gxr6chk 02-18-2008, 01:46 PM Thats why my bf got me a bike. :) Even tho its heavier than his! It has nothing to do with being a girl. A 185 lb man can drop a bike. If a 400 lb machine is leaning and you dont have the skill or strengh (or both) to keep it up...what else can it do but fall down. She leaned it too far to one side. I bet she learns how far she can lean while inching the bike around with that one. Which is absolutely necesarry. Only should have done it with a beater is all. Not your sweet baby! Whats wrong with you? lol
