I live in Ontario and I have a 98 GSXR 600, with an M2, and Riders Safety course, and I'm 23 years,with a clean driving record. I emailed a few State Farm reps in Ontario (actually Sudbury and Barrie) and the one who responded back said I had to have car/vehicle insurance with them first before they could insure my bike....but some people have there bikes insured with them and are saying on the gixxer site that they just have there bike insured, am I getting played around or what...hopefully soemone can give me an answer, and maybe give me an idea of what my insurance would be, thanks.

It could depend on the broker you're dealing with... that may be why they would like a car/house policy as well as a bike.

Couldn't tell you how much you could possibly be looking at.. don't deal with SF

Actually ... I only have my bike unsured with state farm .. but the agent I deal with .. would like me to bring my car there .. I am paying 90/month with 2 tickets on my driving record .. for getting it insured through them without a car .. you might have to call every office .. it really is up to the agents if they want to do it or not ..

Some brokers will take you on without a car, some won't. I asked this question on www.gtamotorcycle.com (http://www.gtamotorcycle.com) in early spring and was given this response by a fella named jagnew.


My State Farm agent isn't in Toronto, but he still insures Toronto bikes.

My agent will not cover just the bike. I have my car there also. Nobody has said what kind of coverage thay have, or how old they are, all of these play a big part in rates. I have full coverage on my 2002 GSX-R 600..I am 31yrs old..clean record and i pay $50.00 a month.

Got a car and my bike with State Farm. 2003 600. 30 yrs old. Clean record. It's $65 per month. Full coverage. I live in the GTA area.
