the hole in the fairing was caused by the left bar snapping and being forced into the plastic

Wow thats a fair bit of damage my friend, you seem to have escaped frame damage though usually the footrest hangers will take the frame lug off with it.Good luck with the repair

Oh dear

Looks almost as bad as mine did. Check the steering lock left to right to see if it's wonky. If it is look at the lock stops on the frame. Any bending of them and it's a write off.

Also check the lovely srapes you have on the R/H swingarm from the rear set snapping. And proberly the bent radiator. The offside radiator mounting lug on mine was also snapped.

Claim !!

In the process of sorting the claim out.

Was raging when i first got to my feet but this guy in the micra was the most apologetic person i've ever met so would have been harsh to chin him after that.

Anyway he's admitted liability so all claims are going to come off his insurance. hopefully repairable though cos if it's a write off then i'm more than likely gonna end up out of pocket.

They're coming to pick the bike away on friday and take it away for assesment and repairs so i'll soon know i guess, will have a look at the bits you suggested dan.

oh and the roundabout was the one by the cockhedge centre, kinda appropriate http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I lowsided on the track here in Italy the other day and my rearset broke just like that. Luckily, excluding cosmetics that was the worst of it for me.
good luck mate.

caught me on the rear left of the bike and knocked it over onto the right hand side and flung me clear where i slid to a halt without hitting anything else thankfully. got a nice bit of gravel rash on my back, not sure how though cos i had my jacket and pants zipped together. any way worst was a sprained ankle which got me written off work for a week but i'm covered in bruises and felt like i'd had the shit kicked outta me for most of this week. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Ouch, Bad luck Dude.
My mother in law drives a Micra so I can appreciate how the accident happened. As far as I am aware all Micra drivers are the same.

Good luck with the repairs, if it is written off then you could buy it back and use it for a track bike. I would not feel happy with selling it to another biker personally, not if it has been written off.

You dont have to let them take the bike away, you can nominate a repairer of your choice if you have someone you trust.then you can make a little out of the deal by fitting used parts where you dont need new, footpegs, clipons, can ect.
