As most of you guys know I've just moved back over here after 11 years away. have I missed something along the way? Yesterday afternoon, I'm riding down the A422 from Stratford and I see this bike cop coming the other way. In the states I have always waved at bike cops and they have always waved back - often they wave first. So I raise my hand, gave a polite wave and he pointed at me a couple of times as if to say 'pull over'. I'm like WTF, I've done nothing wrong, i'm not pulling over until he turns around and comes after me. He never did so I guess he didn't want me.

I had a mirrored visor on, that's the only thing I can think of. So what's the rules with these guys? wave, don't wave, are they generally cool? In the US I knew a few bike cops and they'd never pull you over or give you a hard time unless you were being a complete dick.

police on bikes are the absolute worst. Just cause they took a couple of weeks advanced driving course and can wobble around on a BMW they think there are the ultimate practitioners of safe road riding.....


Gaurenteed to try and give you a patronising lecture on how to ride when they pull over - full of self importance and far more likely to give you a ticket for a small numberplate or noisy exhaust or dark visor or anything trivial than a standard traffic cop.

Don't wave at these dicks they'll pull you over in a second the minute they can. Why anyone would want to wave at one of these cunts is beyond me.

And one thing I have noticed....why do 90% of bike police have moustaches?
