The TT race diary....

" Formula 1 race…

Well burning the midnight oil, we got the 750 shock into the f1 bike and everything was set for the big race. The weather was very misty in the morning and the race was postponed for an hour. Dave was confident that the handling problems had been sorted out and was looking forward to a good race. Well the sun came out and the race was on. The pit stops went well, but we decided not to change the rear tyre as with all the handling problems we had not got the quick change system sorted out.

Anyway everything went well for the race, first lap was under 20 mins, the fastest Dave had gone all week. The bike was still not handling right, but Dave finished the race is his fastest ever average time, at an average speed of 111.51 mph. When he finished his words were “F*cking hell, I was hanging on for grim death at some points, if only we could get the thing to handle, I’d be much quicker”

There is a 600 junior TT race and a 600 production race. The production race is supposed to be for non tuned 600 cc bikes, and the bike must be pretty standard, i can send you a copy of the rules if you want. the junior TT race is for tuned 600cc bikes, no big bores allowed, again various bits have to remain standard though like wheels and chassis.

You could use any bike you like subject to a 1000cc capacity in the Senior race and there are people that take 600 bikes out in the senior race. The F1 race has a minimum capacity of 700 cc and a maxiumum of 1000 cc.

If you want to enter yourself, you must have i believe and international race licence. Most people do the Manx grand prix first, run over the same course as the TT, but at a slightly lower level of racing as i belive you need a national licence to race, so more club racers take part.

Nice go working with it Gixxer. All those hard days of old were for something worth while.
Badgixxer, I'm sure there is some place you could find prices on a place over there. Maybe offer free prescription delivery to a pharmacy and you could possibly write off your housing on taxes at least. I wouldn't use a stay there for full speed practice but just learn the routes to set up for all the next turns. From what I recall from seeing the road on a documentary more then a decade ago you'll need that info on blind turns. Nobody is going to keep pets and livestock from roaming till race day.
