: 2007 GSX-R1000 Performance Info
BallisticParts 03-23-2007, 09:57 AM Hi Guys,
Here is the place where I will post up all the info we discover about the new bike. We have several bikes being developed as we speak and as info becomes available I will post it here.
Here is the dyno info from the first day we got it:
We have our 2007 GSX-R1000's and we have put them on our Dynojet 250i Dyno. It is a brand new bike with 4 heat cycles and 30 miles worth of dyno time. The bikes are strapped down the same way and have 30psi in the stock tire.
The bike has VP 114 fuel. We use VP 114 because we know it is fresh and has no contaminates and it is extremely stable. 114 WILL NOT raise the hp. In fact it would make more (only very slightly) with pump gas.
These pulls were done with mapping changes.
Also, these are production bikes picked up at Ron Ayers Motorsports in Greenville, NC. They are not pre-production race team specials...
Here is what you are looking at:
Blue: Stock
Red: w/ LeoVince Slip-Ons
Green: w/ LeoVince Corsa Full System
Purple: LeoVince Corsa Full System w/ VP MR9 (87 octane)
Pink: 2006 GSX-R1000 Stock
BallisticParts 03-23-2007, 09:58 AM Now.....about the switch.
Mode A is full power: Blue Line
Mode B part throttle is not shown because it appears to only change the power at part throttle. Basically it softens the "hit" but doesn't peak any different than Mode A. This would be difficult to illustrate on a dyno graph.
Mode C: Red Line
Note: You can change between maps instantaneously....

Stevedave 03-23-2007, 11:08 AM So basically in Mode C, this bike is like driving a 750 with that power output? Interesting...
the50ho 03-23-2007, 02:12 PM Great idea for a thread. I'll be keeping this as my first thing to check. Looking forward to a build up or two...and I'd love to see what I can come up with if I ship mine off to NC.
Keep up the great posts!
omega_jeff 03-23-2007, 10:32 PM is that the way my sixxer is going to look??? :scratch
:cheers
Markopolian 03-24-2007, 03:39 AM Keep the info coming!! Nice numbers :)
So basically in Mode C, this bike is like driving a 750 with that power output? Interesting...
Actually mode C is more akin to a 600. It's softer throughout the entire rev range whereas mode B is like the 750 up to about 3/4 throttle, then it's all out from there on like the A setting.
Asfaraslogic 04-07-2007, 04:34 AM Does it actually ride like a 750? And after the 3/4 throttle, do you have an abrupt change of power, like vtec, or is it still smooth?
mophead316 04-30-2007, 10:56 PM Hey Chip, did you all have anyproblems with the bike cutting out above 11,000rpm? We put mine on the dyno fr the first time tday and it is cutting out above 11,ooorpm's andis only making a whopping 158rwhp.... Any ideas guys???? So far I am highly dissapointed.
GOAT07 05-06-2007, 08:49 AM Chip, I Was Wondering If Me Being Down Here In Houston At Sea Level Has Anything To Do With My Bike Only Putting Down 160hp?
brynbnb 11-16-2007, 07:30 PM Any updates? :wait

Sorry.....to be honest, I forgot about this thread.
We have a sitting on the shelf...
Cams:
Web, 07 Yosh R, and 06 Yosh R for the 07's. The 06 Yosh R cam works really well with an 07 head for street applications.
Pistons:
SBK std bore high compression pistons and +3mm pistons. The 3mm stuff works REALLY well. We have 1070cc race motors making more than 210hp!
Heads:
I have CNC heads on the shelf....$1350 w/exchange and must with cams. 190hp is normal with head and cams packages.
Cranks:
+4mm stroker cranks sitting on the shelf to make 1143cc motors...220hp + for race motors.
Billet Clutch Baskets:
Infinitely stronger than the stock basket and must for drag applications. $495
Rods:
Carrillo H-beams in stock, absolutely indestructible.....$1175
On average the 07 motor makes about 5hp more than the 06 motor no matter what the state of tune. It's been extremely reliable and responded really well to modifications.

All dyno numbers are smoke and mirrors. A dyno is a tuning tool, not the be all and end all of engine performance. A dyno is only relative to itself....but I post dyno numbers simply as a reference point and take loads of time to educate our customers before they spend money.
The only thing that matters is what the engine does on the track....and that is why we race in the most competitive and expensive motorcycle race series in the country....AMA Superbike.
Please read what 6 time AMA Superbike champion Mat Mladin had to say about our motors back in 2003...

Glowackattack 05-04-2008, 02:15 PM The dyno pull..
Was this pull with a totally stock bike or with parts??? (pertaining to the A/C mode chart....)
Thanks for the info...
