So my wife wants a GSXR...she's about 5'6", 115 lbs. Anyone in that size range do any suspension mods, like changing to a correct, lighter spring or have you been riding as is?? Any tips or experiences with this area for her?? She currently has "another" bike, and getting the correct springs and tuned for her made a huge difference.

get a lowering link
but if she is 5'6 she should be able to touch if she has long legs im 5'8 and i can touch flat footed. but im also a guy and ladies have longer legs most times so i dont see why you would have to change it just lower it 2 inches

Wont need to lower it...I was mainly referring to spring rates and stuff like that. Most bikes come sprung for the average guy...around 170 lbs. You'll never get the correct sag and settings with those springs at 115.

you could just send it to a suspension shop and have them respring and revalve it for her. Just give them her weight and riding style and they should be able to tune it to her weight and stuff...setting sag and stuff like that will have to be done yourselves. But if you go to a track day with a suspension vendor there they can do ALL of it right in front of you.

I had my suspension set up on my 04 and I made a world of difference! The 04's are a little taller that the 06's. I am 5'6 and I can flatfoot an 06!

Yeah you will need to adjust the suspension. I'm 5'7" 118 lbs and when I first started riding my 750 it would buck me off the seat onto the tank when I hit a bump in the road. I adjusted the front rebound & compression damping force and the rear rebound & high and low speed compression damping force adjusters and the bike doesn't throw me around anymore. I can also stand flat footed with my knees bent and didn't need to lower it. The '06 and '07 600 and 750 have a low seat height.

You're going to need to get softer springs and get it revalved if you really want it to match her weight. I went to get my suspension setup at a shop and the guy told me I'm too light. Basically the rear spring is already at it's softest and so is the front and I still couldn't hit the target sag.
I'm 150 w/o gear and around 155-160 w/ gear.
