I just installed a set of Yoshi slip ons for my k7 1k. In the instructions it says they should be re-packed every 5,000 miles:confused WTF? Does anyone know what they are talking about?

Carbon Fiber exhausts differ from the stainless mufflers in that they are packed with a fiberglass sound absorption material instead of a steel wool and must be repacked over time.

All yosh exhaust is packed with fiber not steelwool. First steelwool isn't used by anyone it make tiny embers flyout and burns away quickly. Stainless mesh is used in factoy cans and some aftermarket for its durability. Afermarket uses a fiber similar to fiber glass but is designed for exhaust sound and temps. It doesn't last as long as the stainless mesh but it weighs much less. Available at most offroad bike shops.
