Trying to get a big group ride up to Cheehaw and just some new faces to ride with. Reply to this post if you are in the area.

I live in the Birmingham AL area. I am like 15 minutes from 29 Dreams motorcycle club. I would probably be interested in riding. I already warned my wife I was riding Saturday since we might get a break from all this damn rain.

Ok, it sounds like a lot of folks want to ride on Monday. I plan on riding both days some, but we can plan the larger group for monday. How about we meet just off I-20, at the 431 exit (I think its heflin/hollis cross roads) . There is a place to pull off right there. If someone has another suggestion, post it up. Also, what time is good for everyone? (Central time zone for the Ga riders)

I am pretty sure I can ride Monday. I have never ridden in the Cheehaw ride so can someone give me some specifics? How long a ride is this and exactly where the riding area is? I gotta plan a little with the wife so this is why I am asking. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To get there(meeting point) from Bham should take you about an hour and 15 mins assuming you care about the troopers along I-20. To ride the mountain, just one time across, takes less than an hour usually, so it depends how much you want to ride. Keep in mind,

Yes, it is still on. As far as I know, noone has backed out. That makes 4 from anniston, at least 2 from Auburn, 1 from Georgia, and yourself.

I had a blast. I am by no means an advanced rider, but OMG. I felt like a racer keeping up with Sarah and Sexfreak. I knew I was going hardcore when I was going around a right at 80 and the tall grass on the right side of the road was hitting me on the helmet http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Sarah, post a picture of that back tire! I enjoyed meeting you guys and girls. Definatly need to do that again.

At first Odell was behind me about a mile and he turn back cause for some reason there was a delay from other riders. I thought to my self , ok its on! Gradually my speed increases as josh and sarah was keeping up with me. Thanks for that extra needed speed, that was awesome. I'm so glad i found the Nesba site for the free track day and i'm not turning back.So far we have 5 altogether and i know 2 more would be interested to join the event. Odell, John, and i will be taking the full day event and 2 significant other will join also. By then Odell will have his baby fix ready for some action. I hope Sarah and Josh will make it a plan for this event. Remember its one of the worlds best track!Its free for 2 20 minute traxck session. Thast all you will need to change your mind about riding on the streets again and track will only improve skills better.

I am already hooked. I have had my bike one year, and I can honestly count the # of times I have done twisties on one hand. I usually ride my bike for cruising around where I live.

I had a blast Monday! I don't feel comfortable doing twisties on my own right now, but when I have someone to follow, I feel totally different. You set an awesome pace and I had SO much damn fun. I am definatly interested in the Track Day event. I planned on going there in sept, but getting out on the track sounds so great. We need to plan another ride soon. That was just so much damn fun and you guys were cool as hell. I need some new tires and I am probably going to get some Michelin Sports or another set of M1's so I will be ready to really hit it hard. My tires are too damn flat in the middle.

you also have Jennings a couple hours south of you, Road Atlanta and a few other tracks that are close!!!! I think that I'll try to do the track day in Sept at Barber(probably bring the SV and the GSXR) if I can get a tow vehicle!!!!

Oh yeah, I am getting some new tires this week and a new pair of Sidi Vert 2 boots..I will be ready..riding the twisties is the only way to go. I didn't realize how much I was missing on.

I still have to bring it to the bodyshop. Hopefully I can get that handled today. Just a coordination problem getting a trailer. I still have to get those pics developed. I keep forgetting. I will try to remember to drop off the film today.
